Bed measures 7' - 4" wide and 7' - 9" long inside. Tailgate is 10" high. I don't know the dimensions of a deuce bed but was told by the guy that built it he cut it both ways.
@ Dependable....looking at the possibility of turning into a dump bed. That would be pretty awesome.

Just picked up my second MV, a 1987 M1028 A2 with a cut down Deuce bed on it. Truck has 55K on the clock but only 3K since the complete rebuild. It has a 6" Skyjacker lift with 36x10x16 Mudders. The interior has M1010 buckets (look like new), sliding window, sound deadener with black carpet and...
Here is one I tried to buy on eBomb. I was high bidder but under his reserve. He called and said he would take $4000. It is still 24V and has a turbo. Don't know about trades.

Guys name is Chris. And no, I don't work...
It wasn't an ambulance. The guy that restored it has 40 - 50 M1008/1009's and a handful of 1028's. I am going to put hands on it this weekend. I will post more pictures. If I pass on it I will PM contact info for those interested.
I am having trouble getting a handle on prices for these. It was restored about 18 months ago. It has a new GM TH400, lift kit, tires, brakes, ambulance seats with console in addition to standard features. No rust southern truck.
Try the CRC product (red spray can). You can get it at any auto parts store for about $6. It is made for cleaning electrical components and it dries quickly.
All bulbs are working except GEN 1 and volt gauge light. Volt gauge also does not work. I haven't been able to check suggestions yet due to work schedule.
By the by, I was able to rebuild the motor using all new pistons, rings, cam, bearings, gaskets and having heads and block tested and...
Took apart a bunch of connections and cleaned with CRC. GEN 1 light still is not on and volt meter still does not come on. What is the logical relationship point to check between GEN 1 and volt meter?
1986 M1009. Freshly rebuilt 6.2 and TH400. After driving for a day the GEN 1 light did not come on and volt meter stopped working. I have charged batteries, had GEN 1 rebuilt and reinstalled, checked all fuses, did Doghead relay conversion, changed all bulbs in dash, tested all circuits for...

Here is the info on Gen 1 from CUCV WIKI:
The Passenger side Alternator MUST HAVE a isolated Ground. The Driver side does not. A Autozone Part number for the DRIVER side alternator is DL7157 (also found in a 1975 cady with a V8 engine) This Alternator is 78 AMP and works just...
Due to a cracked block my motor is out and I am doing a total rebuild. I added a stud girdle ($175) in the event I add a turbo.
