is the transfer case in an m39 series 5 ton truck with an lds multifuel, the same as the one in an 800 series truck? i have a 816 wrecker with a "sick" transfer case, and a line on a 5 ton with a multifuel... and would love to make the 800 pound swap never again

i need a transfer case wizard to explain the cause of a problem i am having. i just toasted a SECOND bronze high low shift assembly. the symptom is the truck will not go into high range, and i am pretty sure when i take it apart, i will find that the bronze ring will have "shrunk" on the shaft...
does anyone have a copy of the old airpack rebuild "ERROR" sticky that is now among the missing? i believe that it will help a few members with their deuce brake problems

answer to my own question, but i will leave this to help others out...
does anyone know a part number for the hydraulic filter at the base of the tank? there is a pointer to the answer in some of the old s/s archives, alas, those are not available.
has anyone cleaned the filter? how?

i have a few 816 questions re: to the main hoist pump. it seems that in the -34, that the main pump is just replaced as a unit.

i was playing with my M816 and having a good old time when i blew either a hose or pump seal under the truck, serious mess.
when i went to put my transfer case in high range, it wouldn't quite go in. there was some grinding, but just not quite in. all seems normal in low range. i am hoping...

i see the "generic ones" that relate bolt size to torque, but i am used to gas, where there is usually a table "component to torque" for...

if the only internal differences between the lds and the ldt are
1) injection pump
2) pistons (cooling jets)
3) injectors (maybe)
4) what ever else i missed
what happens if i rebuild an ldt with these parts from an lds?
it seems easier to ship...
