    Steering / Drag Link Issues

So for a while now I have been having some bad steering problems. Every time I take a turn, left or right, the wheel will turn A LOT before the truck actually starts to turn. Plus when I go back to straight, my steering wheel is never in the same position, it moves after every turn. I was...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Well lets see, since the last time I posted I have replaced the high pressure steering hose from pump to hydro (feels good to have ps and brakes again). Also installed a radio and sony 6x9 speakers. Done some other minor stuff too but cant remember what...

    Glow Plug Wiring Mess

So lately I have been having problems with my GPs not heating up so I want to completely bypass the controller card and install a push button. However, I am completely confused because I think someone has messed with it before. Everything I have read never said anything about a relay coming off...

    Lifting the m1008

So yesterday I did some work, repositioned the pitman arm and adjusted the drag link so now my steering is good minus the steering wheel being off center. Busted down the rims again, cleaned mating surfaces and checked orings and valve stems, now I have 2 tires that hold, 1 with very slow leak...

    Lifting the m1008

So what seems like a year later im almost done with the lift. All I have left to do is readjust the pitman arm since im pretty sure we put it on 1 tooth off (wont turn all the way to the left now) and fix 3 of my rims. I had my 13 year old brother put the rims back together and 3 of them are...

    Lifting the m1008

So I finally got to start work on the truck yesterday. Got the rims sandblasted and got the first 2 coats of flat black on them. Also got the bed taken off, removed the spare tire and hanger, cut the exhaust and removed the last bracket on each side since they were no longer needed. I plan to...

    My First CUCV

So I drove down to Dawsonville GA today and picked up my new rims and tires. John is a great guy to do business with, was very friendly. He also told me that they are going to start selling used CUCV parts in the near future.

Oh ok. So you just cut off the old tips and crimp those on?

    My First CUCV

Where did you get the wire ends cause if they are that bad that is probably the route I would wanr to go as opposed to grinding the tips down every time I get new plugs... just seems like a hassle

    My First CUCV

Well as soon as i get a chance to look into it I will let you all know what its for. Also ordered some glowplugs yesterday on eBay, cheaper than the 60s and easier on me since I wont have to worry about modifying the connectors on them. Still Havent had a chance to do all my electrical...

    My First CUCV

I can take a pic tomorrow, but in the picture up there it looks like theres 3 different things in the spot under the controls? All I have on mine is like a 12v toggle switch with a tiny bulb right beside it... I will post pics tomorrow to clarify.

    My First CUCV

Thank you ThunderCracker. Anyone know what the switch under the heater controls is for? Has a tiny bulb right beside it but as far as I can tell it doesn't do anything.
