    vin code

I think it did have a th400 once,as the vacuum unit is still in place,it has a 700r4 now,and as you probably know it does not use a vacuum unit, according to the build spec on a label in the engine bay,it has 3.08 gears and a locking diff in the rear axle, could not disprove that though, not had...

    idle problem

Check the sock on the end of the fuel pick up in the tank,it may be partially blocked with crud from the tank.If not that, when truck is running, crack each injector and bleed each line, there may still be air in somewhere.

    vin code

according to vin its a 1983,when i acquired it,it had the bumpers, glow plugs are now on a manual switch so no relay,if you look closely the starter slave port is mounted on the front left bumper, the paint is genuine carc, which would be really hard to come by over here, there are data plates on...

    vin code

No,I will have to,although because parts are hard to come by over here,I have had to change the engine bay layout slightly, for instance the batteries are not where they are supposed to be located, and I have redone most of the wiring myself, before I knew about this site, its a pity really,would...

    M1009 as a daily driver

Put a 700r4 in,33" tyres gives me about 22-25 round town, even got about 32 once at 60 mph on a long run.
  10. Barneyrubble

M1009, plenty of moving air but no heat.

Mine are 1000 cca as well, check the heater hoses, they should both be hot when engine is "normal",if not, there could be some crap blocking the matrix core, backflush the core with a running hose pipe, and if you have access to an air line, blow the water through, but be careful when doing this,don't...

    advice for rear window crank

I had the same problem a few years ago,so I took it apart, and managed to attach an old 1/2" drive socket by drilling it and selloc pinning it to the crank part,so now to roll down the window I use a 1/2" drive T handle where the handle is normally on the outside of the tail gate,I just keep the...

Drip drip of diesel from bell housing, IP?

Check for diesel in the "valley",between the heads under the IP,if diesel is present, seals are defective,I had mine rebuilt when they went.

On glow plugs for 10 seconds?

Yes,that the easiest, there will be numbers stamped on it,if they have been replaced they may be AC delco 60g's,they are one of the better ones on the market.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Swapped my primary fuel filters, fitted a new tv cable, and installed a new voltmeter 24v,I like the look of those Jatonka winter cold fronts you have fitted, better looking than a sheet of hardboard I usually use,do they sell on the internet?.
