    Refreshing Gunny the thread.

I just wanted to give an update on the transmission situation. I can't find anything wrong with my rebuild so instead going in and out with it a bunch I am just going to save up and get a Monster Transmissions TH400 to put in him. I should be able to order it around May of 2023. At least it...

This, there is a valve inside. The weights on one end open up as it spins which in turn moves the valve. It has a lot to do with shift points.

So after trying multiple things like checking the vacuum, modulator, governor etc. I came to the conclusion I missed something or did something wrong on the rebuild. To my dismay the transmission has to come back out. I'm not giving up though. I'm going to go back through it and see if I can...

    Refreshing Gunny the thread.

It's all good I'll figure it out. Every friction, steel, bearing, and bushing was replaced in it. It was a complete rebuild. I just ordered another torque converter to see if that's the issue. I know everyone one can make mistakes but I was very meticulous while rebuilding that Trans. I just...

I rebuilt the Trans following a manual step by step. It is possible I screwed something up.

When put in drive it seems to shutter or slip as I'm accelerating then it won't shift. I'm starting to think it may be the torque converter. It's a new reman torque converter from Autozone. Is it possible or am I way off base.

Vacuum is fine now that last photo was vacuum at the Trans metal tube. The rubber line between the metal line and the modulator is new as is the modulator.

    Refreshing Gunny the thread.

Been a while since I updated. Got the transmission and transfer case put in yesterday. Pretty down this morning due to getting the fluid topped off and taking him down the road he's not shifting out.

    Talk to me about horns

Different connection type but same style caps. I had to splice a piece of wire in to bypass mine due to it not being long enough after taking the caps out of the loop. If you pull your driver side headlight trim you should be able to get access to them.

    Flat clear over 383?

And that's why I asked before I did it. Appreciate the reply.

    Flat clear over 383?

Has anyone here used flat clear over there paint job to help protect it and keep it from fading. I've been considering doing it on Gunny when I do the paint job but I don't want it to shine. If anyone has done it some pics would be great.

    Talk to me about horns

I bought the low tone horn from LMC. It's not defining but you can hear it for sure. https://www.lmctruck.com/1973-91-chevy-gmc/csb-1973-91-replacement-horns The only thing I had to add was a ground wire which was simply ran to the underside of the mounting bolt. Very simple also if you have...

    Dead short glow plugs

The glow plugs do draw right at 100 amps. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/what-is-the-current-draw-of-the-glow-plugs.119819/post-1500649 You would be better off with a 125amp circuit breaker and 4 gauge wire coming directly off of the front battery.
