Just put my M1009 on ebay

Yeah, I know that will definitely play a part in value. I honestly purchased with the intent of never selling it, as such I wasn't concerned in keeping it "correct". I'm certainly having mixed feelings right now about it not having bids. I don't really want to let it go, you know?

Just put my M1009 on ebay

Yeah, I thought about that. I do have a ton of watchers, 30+ as of a couple hours ago and LOTS of page views. I'm just hoping they're waiting til the last minute to pull the trigger.

Just put my M1009 on ebay

Now I'm getting worried that I didn't put enough or put too much. No one has bid yet and it's down to less than 24 hours. :tin hat:

Thanks! Since you found it, what do you think about the ad? Anything you would add or photos you'd like to see? I don't mind an honest critique.

2000. With all the trimming. Leather, CD, TV, all power. It's a pretty sweet ride.

Just put my M1009 on ebay

I would totally be in for that! I need to do something. It's way too low for me. It is 4WD, but it's like driving a car. They're considerably more expensive to lift than the CUCV's though.

12, 10, 9, 3. There will be no more children in this house, by God! 4 is way too many as is.

Just put my M1009 on ebay

 Adopted my niece, and now we have 4 kids. Couldn't all fit in it to go anywhere, which is the purpose of having it. Bought a Suburban so I can haul my family around. Don't have room for 5 vehicles either. I'm going to miss her. She's been good to me. :(

    Replacement Gen 1 altenator

To the best of my knowledge, RPM does not affect voltage. All alternators have a voltage regulator, which keeps the voltage constant regardless of RPM. A smaller pulley on one shouldn't make any difference in the voltage.

    Strange Vibes when accelerating

Could be losing a wheel bearing, but I'd lean towards one of the U-joints going bad on the driveshaft, possibly on the rear axle pinion. That's where I'd start anyway.

    Link to CUCV TM's (free!)

Since the old site is currently down, I thought you might all like a link to a bunch of TM's for the CUCV's. Not the military site (which freaks out some virus programs) but just a guy who put them all together. CUCV technical information

Can I put my transfer case in 4L without...

Thanks guys! With the big 33" boggers and the 3.08 gears, I sometimes wish I had just a little more oomph on the pretty steep stuff. Not going to be hard on it or yank out stumps, but just a little more get up and go!

Can I put my transfer case in 4L without...

locking the front hubs? Sometimes on offroad hill climbs, I need a little more gear, but don't need 4WD. Can I move the TC to 4L without climbing out and locking the hubs? Will it break anything, or is it OK to do that?

Successfully running waste oil as fuel!!

When I say cold, I should qualify that I live in AZ, and my definition of cold is 50f. When I run straight diesel, it fires within 2 seconds. It's not a ridiculously long cranking time, but I do wonder how it would crank in the 20's....

Successfully running waste oil as fuel!!

This is the pump I'm using. I got it for free or I would be using something else. It's not exactly economical. 8) Lincoln 284168 Air-Operated Oil Pump Transfer System

Successfully running waste oil as fuel!!

Still running fine, but hard as **** to start when cold. Have to crank it for 8-10 seconds before it lights off. Once warm, starts like usual. Any way to alleviate this? Add a little gasoline to the mix maybe?

    I can see clearly now!

Free! I have zero deductible glass coverage. The receipt says they billed the Ins. Co. $80.09 for the glass, $30 for new rubber, 13 cents for the mirror bracket, and $88 for labor. Total after tax was $208.47.

    I can see clearly now!

Ended up taking a large rock to the windshield of my M1009 over the weekend. Spidered it pretty good. Called up the insurance co and had the glass guy come over and replace it today. What a difference! I didn't realize how clouded the old one (original, I think) was. It's like driving a new...

Successfully running waste oil as fuel!!

A friend of mine hooked me up with a 55gal drum of light hydraulic oil pulled out of a piece of mining equipment. It's clean and went straight from the hydraulic system into the drum. I'm using a lincoln air powered transfer pump to run it through 2 3 micron hydraulic filters. I was a little...
