That may be it - I am not sure I ever bumped it. And honestly cannot remember when posted it but over 45 days ago I bet.
Will keep the bump thing in mind - thanks.
It seems a for sale post I had has gone missing
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?171147-1950s-Russian-BTR-152
Was there something wrong in the post or was it an accidental deletion?
It can even be seen in search results for BTR-152 - but the thread itself is not reachable
Thank...
I am not sure many of the folks that are interested in Russian vehicles would expect to see one for sale on SS - so thought I would post up here in case somebody was wanting to get into Soviet Wheeled APCs and would not think to look in the Classifieds. ;-)...
I am not sure that is a UAZ replacement engine - there are a lot of variations on that same theme though.
Usually the UAZ engines are marked in the upper left and start with 414, 417 or 451
Edit:
Though yours is marked UMZ - so it was produced at the Ulyanovsk motor plant.
So it appears...
Thank you. I will let you know if i need to take you up on your offer. Right now talking to Chicago area friends about getting it and then getting it here later too.
My biggest concern is tires and axles at highway speeds since I have not seen it is person to check - hence the desire to...
Appears so - or outside of fender.
I went with the UAZ model since it is the slightly larger version (and the tires and reflectors on this one are the UAZ variant) - this one has the data plate of the GAZ model - so might even be that tiny bit smaller
Just bought a Russian trailer - now need to get it home...
Specs
Length: 2785 mm (~9ft)
Width: 1720 mm (~5.5ft)
height: 1190 mm (~4ft)
Weight - 350kg (772 lbs)
I am in Farmington, Mo south of St Louis - but could easily drive up to St Louis or even further to meet and pick up (just trying...
Both were already stateside.
BTR-40 was perfectly working when I got it - years later spun a bearing so had to rebuild and now in the middle of rewiring it completely.
BTR-152 had cracked cylinders so we have replaced the engine and transmission - it is not done yet - but it is close. Just...
So if you want a more troop carrying East Bloc armor - I have a BTR-152 that I am looking to sell.
Also have a BTR-40 that I might be selling soon as well if you want to stay smaller and it is all road legal and plated now.
Both already in the US - so no import issues as well.
as for your...
And here is the other one - it has a bent rear beam (from an unfortunate rear-end crash) but the stabilizing leg still works. Its top is in really nice condition.
Can include the skids too - if they are wanted ;-)
Yep - complete with bow and tarps.
I will get pics tomorrow when we are there.
One has extended bows and tarp - but I want to keep those - can swap to regular bows and tarp easily (have some here at the house I can send out there)
I cannot make I this year (double booked myself)
But I have a couple M105 trailers at DDAY that I would like to sell instead of carting them back home (already have a bunch here)
They are complete with bows and tarps. No title - BoS only.
$300 each.
I can arrange for somebody to deal in my...
RAL 6014 is a close color to the Soviet Green.
However getting that mixed up can be troublesome as most places do not have RAL color templates
I talked to RAPCO and they matched RAL 6014 closest to 24087 semi gloss olive drab - so I got a few spray cans and it is a pretty good match for the...
I will be there doing a reenactment display of Russian forces in Chechnya with the group from Red Alliance.
Will try to stop by at some point too.
Have not been since the location moved to Folkstone - interested to see how that changes things from the old Hop Farm.
