What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Installed searchlights on both front fenders, staying with the era of the truck. I like to make things very durable.

    Custom weather front

After working with a local upholsterer I think I came up with a design that gives the old girl the custom look. I took two pictures of it, I realize it’s not original but thought I would share my humorous side which has been difficult to show in the last year.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Your thoughts and prayers are very appreciated, I am a very private person but I have found this a very overwhelming situation to be in. All I can say is I know she is in a better place and she would be telling me to always do the right thing. I have seen how close this community is and it makes...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I could never part with my truck I only would like to add another one to my hobby. I have allot of ideas on what to improve on the old girl but the theme is to stay as close to origional as possible. Your truck sounds like another gem, it's hard to believe the military is letting them out the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I have to confess I bought the bare bones console off one of my go to vendors known to this site, so I could add my own layout. The building I keep the truck in is heated and air conditioned so I am very blessed to have such a grand structure. It's nice to be able to use a mechanics trolly on...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Lol yup that's my good luck charm given to me by my daughter and I promised her it would travel with me any where I go. The truck is the most fun I have ever had she is kept like a museum piece when she's parked and the best camper I have ever owned. The American M923a2 is an American legacy...

    What are these two items

I apologize if I have posted wrong but I couldn't find anywhere that this would fit. I really need your expertise, in the picture attached are two items that were recently given to me, one appears to be a ground electrode of some kind and the cardboard contains another one identical. The secon...

Hair line cracks in radiator capgasket

After changing the radiator cap with the correct replacement it appears that my water pressure is back up and I discovered I was placing a gauge on the wrong part of my cooling system to get the desired reading (lesson learned).

    Throttle cable for m923a2

To close this off they sent me a throttle cable for my 923a2 when I had actually ordered the exact replacement that was an m809 but their mistake was actually a good thing because I was able to install it perfectly to bring it up to the correct model of throttle cable. It was purchased from a SS...

Hair line cracks in radiator capgasket

After close examination of my cooling system and allot of reading the manual, I had pulled my water pump and changed my thermostat due to having no pressure in my cooling system. Exhausted all possibilities I did what should have been done first, I inspected my radiator cap and discovered three...

Finally got one of my compartments tidied up, I found a two drawer tool chest that fit through the opening and 500 bucks worth of mechanics tools. Now I can find everything quickly and in order, really makes a difference.

Did not get 47 quarts of coolant like it stated out of my m923a2

I didn't see anything in the manual about that it would help solve the mystery because today I added new coolant and it took exactly what came out 27 litres. I even pushed air through all the openings and every one vented to the open drain so no blockages. I also have very little pressure as...

Did not get 47 quarts of coolant like it stated out of my m923a2

I opened the vent like your showing, and my surge tank was at the correct level so Im stumped. The only reason I drained it was to inspect my water pump and change my thermostat so all I can think of is there's a low lying area that didn't drain. Doing the math at best I got 30 litres, scared me...
