For noise I would start by removing the little chain that holds the oil fill and the D rings on the skid. There are a few unnecessary things that make noise. I also removed my mesh shield by the rad overflow. It was flipping a bit.
Me and you both. Pull a 3in dip stick on any engine while it's running and your going to get some splashing. Even my 200hr 802 will splash oil.
Put the stick back in.
Go through the IP clocking process. By turning them your giving more/less fuel to that cylinder.
Also since you have two new ones you can switch them between cylinders and measure the temp.
Personally even if I found one bad IP I would replace all of them. They have all had the same fuel...
I'm not sure what filters your useing for an 003a but in any of the oil filter cut open videos the orange can fram are bottom of the barrel. You have to double the price of the orange can fram to get a decent fram filter. Basically there top of the line filter.
Air and fuel filters how ever I...
I like useing chain to clean the bigger stuff out of fuel tanks. This way you know it's all out.
For the smaller rust I have used electrolysis very successfully. A generator I did this to last year is still running at our property.
I stopped buying napa/wix filters. I have had this issue with other oil filters. They dont cross over correctly. And there not of super high quality enough to make it worth messing them them.
breaker and wire gauge dosnt matter if your trying to power your house with a 3 wire 240v plug. You have no neutral! This means you can not provide 120v to the pannel. By doing this you may be putting 120v out to both prongs on a 120v outlet, this is very bad. If you use the 3rd wire for a...
Black smoke is usualy to much fuel if it's not wet stacked.
If it only blows smoke right at start up you should have an injector that is stuck open a bit or needs to be adjusted.
Since you want to power so many different things why not just get an external rated breaker box and run short or long pigtails that you can put what every plug, breaker and wire combo you want on. Hard wire the generator to its breaker pannel and keep a ground rod with it.
Dosnt the oil fill go directly to the pan? Time to start maginet fishing and waiting on a new set of injection pumps. I wouldnt reuse those pumps. Save the good one for a spare.
Injection pumps bolts found loose, black smoke when running and wont shut off right away...you have to much fuel because someone clocked the injection pumps wrong.
I cant remember how to find tune them but I'm sure the TM will tell you. Its a simple adjustment and nothing to worry about.
It's not a bad design. The rubber degrades faster than the cloth covering. Your leak is most likely at the bend because hard rubber that's bent leaks first.
I would replace all the return lines as soon as the generator isnt needed. Usually this requires removing the top lid and the cover by...
Light how did you store the fuel prior to putting it in the generator?
I have read that algee grows in presence of moisture. It can be as small as condensation forming on the inside of a half filled fuel jug..or a half filled generator fuel tank.
Scratch that one above. Heres a genuine cummins brand one in the box.

It dosnt really matter if theres a common oil leak area because you would still need to clean it and run the engine to see where your specific engine is leaking.
I believe ebay has a whole gasket kit for less than $200...
Time to pull the engine appart to further for investigation. You cant make a decision yet because you dont know how bad the other piston and crank is.
I would expect the crank to need some machining at the very minimum.
