Although not what I intend for the ultimate use of my M116A3 (it, hopefully, will become a camping trailer) I used it today to haul some new student desks over to my wife's school. Using my truck bed and the trailer made it a one trip job when it would have been a two trip job without it.

No Problem. Also, ref. the wheels. You'll probably want to stick with the stock type steel wheels. Aluminum or alloy "rims" might work but even if they do they will probably require different lug nuts.

Since it's not a full-on restoration I don't think I'd go that far. Just thought it would be nice to stick one back on there if someone had some sitting around.

Have checked eBay, actually got another type of data plate off there, but good idea on posting in the parts wanted section. Will do that.

On my M116A3 on the curb side of the tongue aft of the tie-down data plate, there was a decal of some type that was faded and peeling off. I couldn't read any of it so I scraped the remnants off. I got to wondering what that decal was and wondered if there was somewhere I could get a duplicate...

Yeah...I'm not sure that would work for very long. As the tires flexed the paint would flake off.

Probably won't get to it for a while. I'm actually going to sell those tires and wheels and I'm working on other issues on the trailer right now so that's on the back burner. Just wanted suggestions on how to clean them up to sell them. When I do get to it I'll post about it though. ...and...

This has probably been ask and answered before but I couldn't find anything via a search. The painted on ID number that they tend to do on one of the tires for the government auctions... ...what is the best way to remove this without damage to the tire? Thanks!

I took the landing gear off my M116A3 to lube it up. It worked, but it didn’t work very well, and I figured it probably just needed some fresh lubrication. So, I took it apart. When I got the top off I found that the lube around the gear had pretty much dried into partially congealed chunks...

There's a version of that sink stovetop combo on Amazon (Dometic MO0911CIS0000US) for $240. Much cheaper than others I've seen. The only major difference is the sink is on the other side.

Finally picked up an M116A3 (Thanks DSD277) and I got to work on a few things this week. The ultimate plan is a small camping trailer build. First thing, as with most of them, the front landing gear crank was MIA so I found a thread here with the measurements for one and dug through the odds...
