Whichever route you pick, consider removing or at least being gentle with the ladder storage brackets and retaining hook on the back of the van to the left side of the doors. They are often missing or mangled from these trucks, and not so easy to source.

Even when the deuce cab heater/defroster is hooked up properly, the vents don't throw much air onto the windshield. Miltrucks once had a pair of additional plates which could be bolted on over the vents incorporated into the dash to further direct the heated air toward the windshields, but...

I like these thoughts. In the same vein, I'm thinking about wiring up a "third brake light" to the trailer electrical plug for additional visibility. We'll see how well that works out...

These were the first MVs I had anything to do with. I remember using them at big Boy Scout events outside the DC area.

Stuff is working TOO well. Every few days early on required a new bag of dessicant. I finally gave up and opened the windows again... Perhaps it will work more slowly over the winter with the leaves down and lower humidity...:roll:

IIRC the star was pointing to the rear for WWII and it was changed in the 1959 or 1964 manuals to point towards the front.
