Thanks guys. "Another chance" is what I gave it when I detached the loader and tipped the cab to get the cover off the transmission, only to find that the transmission would have to be pulled for a rebuild. Doing all that and putting it back together with nothing more than a hi-lift and hand...
I always knew I would be writing this someday....
The time has come to sell my SEE. Unfortunately, I am selling "for parts" since the transmission won't go into gear. See the classified section if you are interested.
This forum has been the best source of information anyone with a SEE could...
I have seen rebuild kits for these, but I can't recall where. It's very possible it was on one of the European parts sites. Maybe try searching the part number together with "rebuild kit" for example. Google translate is your friend.
You could also take a chance and take it apart. You will...
Has anyone done this yet to get to the transmission?
Now I can take the trans cover off....
...and hopefully address some shifting issues ShEE's been having.
I just go to my nearest tractor dealer (Kubota, in my case). I bring the old hose and tell them I need the exact same thing (same length, same fittings). They always come through with an exact fit at a reasonable price. They can usually make the FL4 lines same-day, but often need to order...
First time?
I'm curious to know whether this has happened to anyone before....
I was attempting to troubleshoot some transmission issues when the shuttle gearshift came out of the transmission. Like completely out, with all parts down to the collar, nonmetallic still on it. Will try to post...
Mine already has a visual aid. The flat L-brackets at either side of the back of the bucket -- the top horizontal part of those is almost exactly parallel to the bottom of the bucket. Guessing how close to the ground it is happens all by feel though.
I have only used it for rough work, and...
About that Loader....
I have some catching up to do on the forum, as I've been spending nearly all of my free time lately on clearing our lot with the SEE. I have to report that I did come across a useful trick to operating the front bucket. Sorry in advance about the length of this post, but...
Like Speedwoble said, it's not a bad job. No need to tip the cab, just don't try to pull the starter out up past the exhaust like I tried. In my defense, it was already dark out and I didn't see the access panel initially. Easy as pie with that panel off. I did need to reach up from under...
Too bad about the auger. I have some experience attempting to use an auger in an old riverbed area. It's near impossible to keep it drilling in the direction you want! Not having any other power equipment I had to resort to a digging bar and pick to finish the job.
I was looking forward to...
Sorry to hear about your troubles alpine44. I second what FLU Farm is saying. Even a "good" one requires a fair amount of care and feeding. Having a bad one is not just a money pit (even working on it yourself), but delays all projects for which the SEE was intended beyond all realistic...
Welcome to the group. One fairly common starting problem is the clutch switch. Under normal conditions it prevents starting of the vehicle unless the clutch is fully depressed. Sometimes, depressing the clutch pedal all the way to the stops will still not actuate the switch and close the...
Those air tank drain valves may very well be the reason it isn't building pressure--at least they were on my SEE. They are easy to disassemble for inspection. If they are just full of crud, a good cleaning may make them serviceable.
I found a damaged sealing surface on mine, so I...
