Good thing I like puzzles! 🤪 Transmission cooler lines out in one piece… 😆. Final outcome… cooler lines removed, shift linkage removed, torque converter bolts removed, rear transmission mount bolts removed, cross member bolts loose, 4 out of 6 bell housing bolts removed and last two are loose. Need to secure the motor, remove the dipstick and disconnect the kick down wire and it should be ready to drop. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

Another fun day at the OK Corral! Bolt action swap is in full swing. Secured the motor for trans removal. TH400 is out and on the floor. Vacuum line for the actuator is removed. And the final piece, the valley drain is installed. Came home to a delivery from Summit! 😁. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

My delivery from @summitracing was a @theoriginalfluidampr to keep vibrations in check. Should have just done it in the first place. Buttoned up the rest of the front of the motor. If you don’t have this Thexton tool for your power steering, get one. Have been fitting and measuring things for the bolt action install… 🤔. I’ve got a hole to cut in my future. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

One thing about that Thexton tool, you'll only ever need to buy it once (long as you don't lose it).

THAT will never bend (or wear out), that's for sure!

Hey, Mad Texan, are all those holes in the flywheel (?), are those for balancing the wheel to keep down the flutter while it spins?

Not all of the holes seem regular and evenly spaced. Is that what those are about?

Some holes on the lower right hand I would say are for balancing. Then 6 are treaded for the pressure plate.

Well, SKF failure in my opinion… looks like bronze but sticks to a magnet. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Ordered another one from @allstarperformance that’s not magnetic and is longer with a flange 👍. The @tomwoodsdriveshafts replacement came in for my wobbly front driveshaft. Farm inspector checking in on the progress. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

Sunday was a long day with the NV4500. The pilot bushing and the input shaft didn’t want to agree. The lift table was a creeper needing constant attention. But in the end there was a conflict resolution and bell housing and transmission came together… special thanks to my buddy Scott for giving me a hand today and sweating and swearing with me while wrestling her in. She’s sitting on the cross member on her own currently. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

Just working at getting things back together. Top of the NV4500 peaking through the hole. Got the transfer case installed. Installed the @ruffstuffspecialties pinion guard I’ve had and the rear driveshaft. Installed the new @tomwoodsdriveshafts front driveshaft. And installed the transfer case strut that the military didn’t opt for. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

The build is coming along real fine, Mad Texan; looking good.

And that slab clean as a whistle, not a drop of oil; nothing. How do you manage that?!
You're not looking close enough.... But the concrete was sealed 30 days after it was poured, it seems to help.

Buttoned up the top of the transmission after filling it with some @redlineoil MT-85. Testing out some shifter boots and where the shifter falls… 👍. Painted and installed the transfer case skid plate. Then got to work with some C.A.D. design. Made a template off the master cylinder, then used some measurements I had to locate the template, and decided to drill 🤪. Master fits nicely and the bolt holes line up. Another step checked off. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

Continuing on with the bolt action conversion, I decided to take on the pedals today. While taking the original out wasn’t too bad, installing the new ones was kind of like herding ducks. The original four bolts, not bad, but the two on support rods for the master swinging around but have to go in at the same time. As well the assembly being twice as wide made for some interesting commentary. 🤬🤬 Pulling it down to have to do it a second time because of wires without enough slack to go over it… a learning experience 😆. But they’re in! Moved to the shady side and installed my massaged starter, the nose and the flywheel weren’t playing nicely! All good now and secured with ARP bolts! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv

Mad Texan, Brother; you are Fearless:

- The toughest project, and in you go (no hesitation)

That is righht admirable.

I don't know much: just what kind of bolt is an ARP bolt?!

Some not so exciting work yesterday working on the hydraulics of the bolt action transmission. Installed the reservoir, the slave cylinder, and the line from the master to the slave. I also fished out the wire for the kick down from the TH400 from underneath and left it in the corner. Just in case… 😆. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010 #cucv
