Ahab,

I believe the OE cable to be about 15'- 20' long or so.
I saw the quote in passing on my box just about a week
or so ago. Yes, it was over $3,000.00 for that cable.
That is what I was quoted.

These LMHC Cranes are AWSOME
little pieces of machinery and you can not get parts, you
have to make what you are missing or hope to find one
on GL and that is not happening currently.

They were origionally designed for the LMTV bed. If you can
picture an LMTV bed you will recall some square pockets
w/ removable plugs at the DS and PS rear of the bed. Those
holes are for the LMHC (Light Material Handling Crane)

There was a NOS LMHC that came across GL about 8 months
ago or so, new in crate, it went for under but not far from
$3,000.00 if I remember right. Just beautiful it was...

Once I have it all up and running I will do a YouTube for all
to see how cool it is.

issued, and used crane...It is a little BEAST!

LMHC is finally finished...

I would like to thank the academy, the men and women of Steel Soldiers
forum, Mom, 98G, God, Oreo Double Stuff's... I finally finished my LMHC and
the removable flatbed is really starting to come along too!

98G did the majority of the welding on this flatbed at his place a few months ago.
I keep adding here and there, trying to make it mission ready,we're getting close.

- And you didn't even mention your boarding ladder (great item).

I also noticed a roller at the end of the frame; is that flatbed a roll-off!?

If I put on a Tricon or quadcon the crane stays. If I put on a Bicon it goes.

The roller is an OE part of the M916 for the winch to pick up a "____insert proper name for it here___"
Landoll type trailer where the front folds up/down "I THINK" . I am keeping it for future poles I
want to get out of the ground or stumps I want to pull straight up. I seriously doubt the stump
will argue much w/ that 45000# Winch ...

The boarding ladder is indeed sweet. It is off an LMTV.
I have been seeing more and more of them around.
The stanchion pockets are just Class 2 Hitch Receiver tube.

That ladder will lay across the top of the bed, one end that
goes in a tube has a hole so I can pin it for transport. I'll
probably never really be done w/ this...the possibilities
are endless.

Ahab I know where there is one of those ladders if you want one.
I am not a middle man, he wants "about" $110.00 or so for it w/ shipping.

I have no use for one at all, but just liked it as a great idea and a good item.

Nice thing about Idaho is you can drive any vehicle with a regular operators drivers license as long as it is not for commerce, so we should be good and legal here. With a little instruction I think I will do ok and not run anyone over, I can't wait. Reminds me of my first California driving experience. Chief tells me to take an FL80 full of target stands from Coronado to a range at Camp Pendleton. He told me just head north you will see the signs,it is rush hour so have fun. It didn't take me long to learn how to maneuver a slow truck through speeding traffic. I miss my crew cab Freightliner, I didn't have to pay for fuel.

I don't remember if his is a crew cab or not. Don't matter,
I really like his truck.

I finally have things to a point where I trust the truck much.
Were going to give it a good work out while gas is somewhat low.
I have driven it all over the place locally, now it is time to hit the road
and smell some roses at 55MPH w/ my new Class A license and
new CA plates and USDOT Number and UCR.IN.GOV PAID IN FULL
and a LOG BOOK and I am now too legit to quit! HA! Silly money sucking laws
are OBSURD.

Monrovia , CA to Fort Huachuca, AZ via Tucson and meeting w/ Mr. 98G's
welder for a little flatbed surprise! I can't WAIT! The M916 is cocked,
locked and ready to rock. (Gawd I hope the heater works! Ha!)
After all that effort to put in an A/C system??? Ha!

I grabbed this insulated, air conditioned, wired NICE mandoor-container
few days ago narrowly winning it by only $200.00.
Little does the first loosing bidder know, that I was done bidding and THEY
lost it by just 2-C notes...

Some things are just meant to be... I have been after a couple of these things
for quite a while. One down, one to go.

EDIT: I have modified my trailer. What you see pictured is another SS members trailer
photo'd at his home. It is a great picture thus why I use it but my trailer is this
trailers identical twin. I have added 2- Pelican storage boxes and next week we weld
down an LMTV LHMC socket. Also, I cut down the lunette mount nose so I can retain the rear roller on
M916. CLICK HERE to read more about this incredible trailer that the DOD paid over
$77,000.00 for in 2009. It still has nubs on the tires this second, that changes in a
just a few sort hours when I pull it out after adding Conspicuity Tape to it.

Thank u for the compliment, we sure try hard...
Were gonna build a beefy removable flatbed for
it next week out of 4"x4"x.25" wall square steel tube
w/ 5" angle iron on the sides for flat-hook ratchet
straps and hitch receiver tubes for stake pockets
and more than likely a 1/4" diamond plate deck.
Should be stout enough to haul a battle ship.

I can't wait to hit the road in it. Some guys dislike
that 16 speed, they say it's too much work...it keeps
me busy. (16 fwd gears plus 2 rev ) It goes 62 MPH "." ,
BUT, it will do it hauling 106,000 pounds! HA! RATED!

I still have the Drivers side to design but this is a working drawing for
hangers for 5TON Chain Lockers (Boxes) the rearmost box on the PS
of a 5 ton.

The 2nd from the left goes OVER the far left and they get welded together
leaving pockets in the rear for hex-head bolts to be tack welded in.

The 2nd from the right goes OVER the far right and they get welded together
leaving pockets in the rear for hex-head bolts to be tack welded in.

Each completed welded unit gets welded to the lowest part of the spare tire carrier
that saddles the frame.

The vertical slots you see are reveals for the gussets on the spare tire support.

The rear-most gusset will get about 1.25" cut away from its bottom.

5Ton boxes fit right in there w/ about 2" to spare.

Yup no need for CDL in wisconsin ether as long as its personal.
