Beat Uship Rates

I can almost always beat the rates quoted on Uship on Items that are already bought and ready to go. U-ship charges the TSP there 10 to 15%. I do not like to give low rate Quotes on items that are not purchased yet do to rapidly changing fuel prices and market conditions. I can provide the best rate on shipments of single trucks. I am an Agent for Landstar.

My last price from Good Transportation here from NJ TO Gainesville Florida was $2450 for a M543A2 Wrecker at 39,000lb's

I didn't think that was bad.
That's no too bad. They quoted me $1100 and change for this M813 move of 193 miles, NJ to VA - seemed a little steep.

I have used REDHAWK GLOBAL to ship stuff before. last shipment was a truck weighing 42k # and they charged me $985 to ship it 530 miles. which i thought was heck of a deal and they done me a great job. Last shipment i called them to find a truck (they specialize in filling empty runs or backhauls) at 10am. and by 4pm i got a call stating the driver would be there at 9am next day to get the truck. talk about fast.

Guy's use a good solid broker.
I have been using Landstar Inway for years now. I bet they moved over 75 loads for me so far and there has never been a delay for me. They normally have a truck ready for pick up in 48 hours. they follow instructions to the T.
I make one call with the information and in a few days I receive a call to set up delivery at my warehouse.
they are not the lowest priced trucking company and not the highest.
I will gladly pay a couple of bucks more to avoid all the B S that I just read here

I just started bidding on loads on UShip. What I've found is that people are incredibly cheap or just wishy-washy. It's not even worth the aggrevation. I've had much better luck getting loads to help pay for my trips through Steel Soldiers, G503, word of mouth and some of the other military vehicle message boards.

Hauling for people I know has turned out to be the best situation. They know that I am honest and will treat their load as if it were my own.

You can write these guys up on their profile and make u-ship aware of the situation and they will close their account. I have nothing but 5 star ratings from my u-ship customers. Always check the transporters profile be for you accept their bid. If I can be of assistance to you call me at 910-263-2788.

I have been waiting 5 days for a pickup on a M818 from NC to VA and two companies told me they would call right back and they didnt. I had no idea that it took so long to find a truck..5 days from when I made the paperwork with them still nothing. When they said they are waiting on a phone call (every time I call) they will call me right back. The American Transport driver is very nice but it seems the dispatcher doesnt care if they make a load or not or if the company makes any money. And New Era Freight dispatcher just plain doesnt call you back.

I have stopped dealing with American Transport because of the situation they created for you and me. If both of my trucks were not in Texas right now I would take care of your load myself. My trucks won't be back on the east coast until around the 26th of January. I apologise for this situation if American had not assured me they had a truck for you I would not have used them.

Try calling Ted at Mercury. He arranged several loads for me. He's a broker and a trucker. He's at 570-562-4041. For hot shot loads, call Dave Sivesind at 507-378-8438.

Do your research!

Please visit http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov for information on companies before you post information that you do not know anything about. I did my research and there are two different companies Transportation Specialists mc # 567588 which was owned by one person and went out of business in 6/15/2007. This other company Appalachian Logistics is a whole other company with a different owner in a different city and went out of business in 3/13/2008 due to the recession. They lost a big customer who left their company in a big bind and they were forced to shut their doors. They have been out of business for over two years. The young lady you are slandering was caught up in a bind from a business to business transaction and was found not guilty. The young lady was forced to make a hard decision when she left her employer because the employer did not want to pay her the wages and commission that was due to her. If you were owed over $60000 you would of left too. The account you are referring to on Uship is run by ASAP Dispatch and has a truck running out of Florida and Tennessee. That company is a dispatch service with independent truck drivers. Unfortunately, the dispatcher has no control over independent carriers. This load that was not picked up for this client was due to the item not being located, then once found it was not running and the driver did not want to waste his time waiting for something that was not going to show some profit. The dispatcher can not control these carriers but this carrier was dropped by the Dispatch company for failure to aide the client.

You seem to know a lot about these people / company that accepted my load on Uship. I can only assume you are the dispatch girl or the driver? If so, hey Mods, do we need this person on SS?

Why don't you tell us who you really are?

Again, no popcorn smiley.......

First it is not unusual for a trucking company to answer the phone "Dispatch" especially if it is a smaller company or dispatch service. From a trucker's point of view: it is poor customer service not to do an agreed run. It almost sounds like you were dealing with a Broker and those people can be both good and bad (personal experience). If the load, was booked through a Load Board not in the traditional way that also will lead to issues. Drivers can still back out until they fax the agreement back to the Broker Service.

As for pickups and deliveries...99% of truckers will not wait for a load to be loaded or unloaded unless they are being paid to be there. If you cannot get in touch with dispatch or the shipper then the driver prolly isnt going to hang around. As far as shipping this way- most uship loads that are booked on a DOT truck are loads that get drivers to another location to pickup something that pays or pays for the fuel to move the truck.

My suggestion in dealing with a trucking company or Owner Operator is to always get a contract to move the goods with time lines and payment established. Otherwise you will have the same problem that Moving companies (bedbuggers) used to stick customer's with.

I called Uship several times on a pickups from GL- nothing but lip service- missed the pickup dates (several) and lost my lots and GL relisted the items again -
It takes only one time- you learn- and never again!!!
