After an 8 hour day at work I came home and wanted to lighten the CUCV work load. I choose Mr. Rusty because I knew I could get it completed and on its way. I took some pictures of the rubber hose I encapsulated the glow plugs with. I filled them with dielectric grease. It helps keep the corrosion at bay. I crimped all 8 of the 3/16" spades and assured they were tight on the glow plug. I see many that barely have a connection and that makes a hot spot in the wiring further degrading the wiring harness and the connectors. I also was looking thru my desk at work and found one of the original made in USA AC Delco glow plugs from back in the day. I always use a glow plug to fit my connections. It sucks to just crimp them and struggle trying to get them reconnected under the nozzles. Mentioning nozzles. These nozzles are encrusted in rust, They as slightly wet but no drips and it runs fine. I could turn this into a space shuttle project but I know that it has a task to do and it is all serviced and ready for another year. I completed it and drove it to a local exhaust shop and am having the left muffler replaced. 5 years and the muffler is gone. Looking under this truck it is hard to imagine I done all that work 5 years ago. Bolts that a wrench will not fit on because of rust. Take Care and Be Safe.
