My 2007 m1151a1 (ECV) is just like that. Holes directly in the tailgate, no plate.Just curious as what does it do? Looks hinged?
On older slantbacks, the straps just mounted with loops directly to gate with no plate.
what does it do?I’ve only seen these on M1167’s….one came on my 67 and several customer 67’s have them, but never seen one on a 51.
Its a stretcher for midgets.what does it do?
I suppose youre right. I just couldnt find the part anywhere so I didnt know if this was even something available as an individual part. I thought this is somethign that only came with certain tailgates for some reason. Why dont you start a parts wanted thread?
Are you interested in trading or selling it?I have one.
I believe SOP was to carry the entire ground mount parts for the M220 TOW system in case the HMMWV goes mammaries vertical you can still accomplish the mission. The USMC MG Section Weapons Carriers carried the M3 Tripods for the M2HB .50BMG and Mk19 40mm in the slant's cargo bed even though the weapon system was mounted in the turret.Looks like it is for a different purpose to carry a portable folding tripod for the tow missle launcher instead of the camo net set up.
Maybe is also removable and used as a base for the tripod and launcher on sand and soft soil? Swag
My theory: with the camo net and pole bag strapped to the gate, on a truck with A2 (or A1) airlift bumper installed, you can't lower the tail gate without unstrapping the net and poles, first.I know they set up is to carry the camo netting and pole set up but why was this plate necessary on this model that I believe is a tow missile model.
