I bought a "Prepcision Magnetic Gun Pistol Mount Precision Quickdraw" a few years back. They have 4 holes for screws to mount and have a concealed magnet to secure the pistol. A nice feature is you can charge an empty chamber by pushing down on the grip as you grab your weapon. Never tried it with a revolver though.Does anyone have any good suggestions for a mounted holster for an 87 M998? All the ones I find are magnets and that’s a no go for aluminum.

Actually bought several. Some went out as gifts. I mounted one by the bedroom door. Easily accessible for 'bumps' in the night.Where did you mount it?

It appears you are correct. Here's the relevant information-I see by your avitar you are located in Florida? If so, In Florida, a firearm in a vehicle must be securely encased or not readily accessible for immediate use, unless it is concealed on your person.
So if you have it mounted in a holster and get stopped by LEO, prepare to be swatted. You can't have a firearm openly visible in Florida.
I know they just changed the law and you do not need a concealed carry permit anymore to conceal carry. But I do not believe they changed the above requirements.
And it would not have occurred to me that concealed on my person is just fine in FL, but my magnet would have been illegal. It appears you are correct. Here's the relevant information-

The magnets bolt in. The magnet holds the firearm to the magnet, not the magnet to the vehicle.Does anyone have any good suggestions for a mounted holster for an 87 M998? All the ones I find are magnets and that’s a no go for aluminum.
