Finished up everything necessary to go camping.











Only had one problem. The water pipes pulled out of the shower faucet. It appears that the plastic it is made out of is not pvc so I got no chemical bond. I made a temporary fix with a mechanical bond. A block of wood jammed behind the pipes. No leaks and allowed us to take hot showers. Boy I'm glad I left the panel saw in the truck.

Just about time to replace some rear tires





Pulled, cleaned and adjusted my injectors. Also adjusted my valves.





I built a pop tester out of a Porta Power pump, pressure gauge and one injector line.

Getting ready for our annual camping trip. Haven't tested battery's in while. The battery for my Twelve Volt system was low so I charged and tested it.



It failed so it got replaced.



Now to test the charging system. I have found that I need to run Twenty eight volts or my battery's wont stay topped off. Its nice that we can adjust our voltage regulators so easily.



I use a 50 amp Vanner battery equalizer to charge the Twelve Volt system battery. This battery only runs the twelve volt stuff in the cab. The coach has its own Twelve Volt system consisting of three deep cycle battery's. They only charge with solar, shore power or the generator.

Because of the height of the truck my water hookup and gravity fill ended up One hundred and twelve feet off the ground.



So I plumbed another in a little lower so I don't have to stand on my tippy toes to hook up the hose.

I wired the old convoy light switch in so it powers the 12 volt stuff with the master switch off.



And then I carpeted the back with some leftover carpet squares we had.

Installed the lower corner trim on the upper bunk.




Panted the front and rear again. I really need to finish the trim and putty all the screw holes for final paint.

For the last few months I have had what I thought was an injector knock that would come and go. Also had excessive blue smoke at idle along with heavy smoke under load.
I pulled and tested all the injectors and they tested good. So off come the heads. My son gave a helping hand.

I found that the radius in the piston bowls were full of a soft white carbon type substance.







The Injector hole on cylinder one was almost entirely plugged with this stuff. The fuel could not spray into the cylinder but would have just dripped in.

Its is not in the pictures but the top of number one piston had a build up on it and the head had the same. My knock was the piston making contact with the head. It easily came off with a razer blade

I cleaned all the stuff off the pistons and heads and back together it went.

Truck runs perfect now, No excessive smoke at idle, lots more power and no knock.

My son took a video of the startup. Batterys were low so we used some happy juice. Had a leak at the petcock on rear of block.

You need to get that puppy good and hot ! That will keep that goo from forming. Plus stop using that cheap low sulpher fuel if you can.

Agreed.

Run a bottle of SEAFOAM through on a tank sometime in the near future. it'll clean all that junk out, of the tank, lines, and filters. Also give a thought to adding a slight amount of ATF to your oil. With it's detergent qualities, it will help keep the oil from foaming, and keep the lubricating system clean.

I do this to my 1999 7.3L F350, and it runs better than new at 254,000 miles.

Today I made an important addition to the army truck.



I also sorted the tools and parts still inside.


And I installed an antique 110 volt light fixture.
