Is this a typo mistake or it’s possible?

I have a hummer and humvee toy collection with some old school hummer factory advertisement material,

I noticed they said 3 speed transmission for 1993 model year and that is correct
But it also says 242 transfer case,

i thought 242 can only be bolted to 4L 80eIMG_7645.jpegIMG_7641.jpegIMG_7640.jpegIMG_7643.jpegIMG_7644.jpeg

My 3 speed 1097R1 has a 242 case made in '05 when it was refurbished. My truck started out as a '93 M998, so probably a 218 back then.

So how did they bolt 242 to 3 speed ?
Splines of the 3 speed are different I think
No the -80 transmissions have the same output splines (including the 6L80), you can put a 242 behind the 3L80, in fact I think all A1s and R1s have 242s there is a different output shaft (TC output shaft) on the 242s they used behind the 4L80
IIRC they never put a 4L80 behind the 6.2L but I could be wrong.
Again IIRC only the basic had the 218

My 91 M998 refit in 2008 has a GM 6.5 NA , Three speed and the NP 242.

Pretty sure my old 1987 6.2/3L80 drivetrain had a NP242. I thought it was original, given the age and lack of upgrades my National Guard truck had (or didn't have).

Hummer H1 92-93 used the 3L80e with 242 Tcase, essentially was an M998A1.
85-93 used 218 Tcase….when the 218 was mfg discontinue, a “57k” kit was developed so when a
218 was to be replaced, you ordered the “kit” that also had the new front and rear driveshafts, rear diff yoke, Tcase lock
lamp harness kit etc….
