I did have an idea. A simple board diode should work the same, correct?
I don't think it's quite that simple, but still probably doable. I don't believe there is such thing as a "correct voltage LED" (e.g. 12V LED). So you would have to use an LED and resistor to drop the voltage, at a minimum.

Just the first Google search result below. You can get them any voltage you want really, even multi-volt. Still plug and play, just a little more expensive.
