LMTV shock bolts measure just shy of 16mm. Rancho RS999036 is 36 inches and compresses to 21.3 inches that should be enough travel I think. Bolt hole on the Ranchos is listed at 15.875mm. The stock ones compress to 20.94 inches by spec and open to a minimum of 33.26 inches.

Mine have a different size bolt hole top versus bottom as well, are yours like that?

I only measured one bolt. All of the shocks should be the same though. I have had pretty new shocks they all compress about the same. Made to dampen impacts thats about it.

I believe a Gabriel # 83242 will fit. The stock shocks on the front are 20.9449 Compressed and 33.2677 extended. That model Gabriel 20.98 and 33.73. The shock bore is the same. I don't know about sleeve size for the mounting bolt but it looks to be about a 1/2" or 5/8" sleeve. They are reasonably priced around $50 each.

some one tried the gabriels.... it was a no go cause shock eye ends bolt size were way to far off to use.

Anyone got bolt specs.? same bolts front and rear? Been reported they are different top and bottom.

while at the truck tonight I got 5/8" shank measurement for bolt at top of shock and 7/8 shank for one at bottom. Though do believe that technically these are metric.

16mm and 22mm, but that is an A0 truck. A1R front shocks are 33.5 long and use 20mm bolt top and bottom. Looking to see what A1 truck uses in front.

Has anyone tried the fox shocks from Grisby ? They look great I just take my truck on beach . But I have got front wheels in the air.

Those are just a basic bypass shock. I've not looked up the NSN but I suspect they are for a light vic.

The potential problem with bypass shocks is the location of the bypass related to the mount. Even if they happened to be the right length the "bypass can" could be off 90 degrees and crunch into an axle or frame.

I'm pretty sure that Seth from Adventure Driven is running ICON bypass shocks. But those cost as much as some people pay for their trucks. LOL
