Did you remove all off that crap or did you find a way that it is working.
I do not think that AM-General built in a shimmy in there trucks.
I am sure that they worked on this also.
Willy
Mine all works. I have a seal or two on one axle that needs replacing, have axle venting. Fact is they aren't perfectly balanced so you'll always have some vibration, depending on the road too it's more or less noticeable.

Good luck, Hope it's not a bad bearing. Expensive!

my truck had a VIOLENT shake at 40 when I first got it... then I realized 2 of my wheels did not have the wheel weight. Fixed it and hasnt shaken since. a little skittish taking turns at speed, but nothing like it used to

BTT it is still doing it
Less now I have air at 40 PSI I will try next at 50 PSI
Is the CTIS adjustebele or not
Willy
Yeah if it works. Does yours light up, press the button for highway and it starts airing up? 45lbs is the highway setting for the CTIS. If you mean can you change the standard settings, No unless you can reprogram the chip in the head. If you want to go higher you need to inflate them by hand.
Don't go above 60PSI.

Hi Thank you for a quick answer so I can not increase the standard setting
Now a other idea can Have remove the air intake system and put a regular vent in these tires and wheels So I will have to put air in manuel if I want to stay at 45 PSI remember mine only goes till 40 PSI:driver:
I will take these 2 front tires to truck repair shop and have them balanced may be my problem will go away or I find out that one off them is wiggeling
Try any thing once. These wheels are to heavy for me to foul around with.

How about posting a pic or two of your wheels? Are the shields all there, rim weights all there?
You don't need to replace the valve stems, you can air up the tires manually from the valve stem on the wheel valve.
That's why the valve is there. You can either use the CTIS to inflate/deflate the tires or do it manually.

I have removed the pressure regulator and put it on the fire wall.
Next to the on/off valve.
Have not done any thing else

"Proper toe-in is 1/16-3/16 in. (1.59-4.76mm)."

After doing the string method several times, I took my -a3 to a speciality allignment shop.
My adjustment was close, but still was slightly toe out.
They also said that my tires were nearly round, and camber was near vertical.

The best answer I think is almost all the tires are crap, they have flat spots and the best thing to fix this is driving on a hot road for an hour. The best fix is to replace with 395's since the top speed sux.

What is wrong with my A3 I am getting very tyerd with this thing
I have changed tires and wheels from the rear to the front
By my measurement the toe in is 1/4 inch
Now the rear tires are going down to 20 LBS is this because off the CTIS
I am about ready to get rid off this truck what a piece of s***t.
I am sorry I can believe some people say it is a sweet truck to drive it is shaking me to dead and nothing I have done sofar is making a change.
Monday next I have a apointment to check front end alignment we will see.
Also one off the vent is hard to blow up with compressor set at 125 LBS it take 20 min to air up to 50 LBS where is that problem.????
May be I should remove the CTIS.

I have two of these trucks-both CTIS barely worked. I just shut them off and fill the tires directly on the wheel valve in the square cut out on wheel cover.
Both had the shimmy. I aired them up to 50 psig and it went away.
One thing you might try-pick the two best tires and put them on the front. You may have a bad casing on one of your fronts.
Another thing-I put on a set of lock outs-and what little shimy I had left is now fully gone. Check your front wheel bearings-jack up the front-take the axel hub off and check to make certain your wheels-hubs are not loose.
Dont give up-once the shimmy is gone-you will love driving this truck.
Kill the CTIS!

I took apart a wheel and it had 3 gallons of water in it. you may have water in a tire. I think if they sit as spares and the tire leaks down, sitting rain water may get past the o-ring.

I bet if the tires sat flat, rain might get past the o ring and collect as well.

Wait, does it rain in California?

Drain those air tanks. I had neglected my air system for a year and had to poke a wire in the drain to get through the gunk!!!!!!:p I think a half gallon of water came out, all rust looking and pukey-YUCH. My CTIS never quit working in spite of this abuse. I will do the air dryer one of these days and the full truck PM and tranny 4x flush when I can hire Kenny S. to help.
I use the CTIS everyday I drive Trucky to keep it loose and I drain the tanks everyday as well.

I had 2 extra wheels that came form Ft. Polk that had brand new tires but the wheel weights were in the wrong spots.aua

What size is the spindle nut.???
ON the spindle.
Willy
The spindle nut is a 3" octagon. I have them in the classifieds if you don't have access to one. Be sure to read the TM for proper adjustment. Don't use a hammer and chisel.
