MEP-802A/803A S1 Master Switch Source - Electroswitch

My MEP-802A had a blue S1 that would hang in the start position so I started looking for a replacement. I found another blue one on the auction site for $90 and passed. I sent an email to Electroswitch: I wanted the NSN 5930-01-531-2976, Model 75902LV version. The folks at Electroswitch indicated that this is an active model and could be purchased. The quote I received looked like this.

Is your rotary switch 75902LV available? It is a Series 31 switch used in military generator sets as the Master Switch.

Pdf is the Electroswitch drawing, images show old and new switches, and the installed unit. The several Electroswitch people I interacted with were very helpful and made the purchase quite easy.....as long as you can stomach the cost. I wanted an OEM 75902LV and am quite happy with my purchase. Note the diode is not included with the switch - I reused the one that was on my blue switch.

Hope this info helps others with the dreaded blue switches.....

I found the same switch on eBay and I tried to install it over the weekend. I placed all terminals from the previous switch on the corresponding numbered lugs of the Electro switch. I got nothing. Is there any chance you have a wiring diagram for the new switch?

Several of the guys on SS prepared the attached diagram. Other info is located in the TM section. Start from the simple.....E switch pulled out, Dead crank in Normal....and you need to reuse the diode from your original switch.

At least this info was valid back in February, when I had inquired with them. The whole corona thing put my order on hold.

I did order a switch last year to replace a broken one. I would order from Electroswitch.

If memory serves, these new switches from Electroswitch require you to reuse the little jumper cable thats included on your factory builds, to the new one. They do not come with a new replacement.

Exactly correct. I bought 2 of these in February. Same price as LITD quoted and 3-4 weeks lead time.

Qty 1-9 is now $219.70/ea
Qty 10 is $91.97/ea

So it would behoove rebuilders (and regular owners alike) to get into some sort of bulk buy in the future.
