******Attention Southbound I-5/Olympia Area Steelsoldiers*******

All Steelsoldiers heading down Saturday morning from the Olympia area or north. Our plan is to meet up together so we can convoy down I-5 to Napavine. My plan is to make our arrival into the Napavine AO at 0900 hrs. In order to do this, I am setting up a rally point at Exit 99 at 0700hrs with a departure time AT 0730 hrs. I will need to play the exact location by ear as both truck stops were full of sleeping trucks last year. I ended up parking on the shoulder on the exit 99 off-ramp. There are two truck stops at exit 99. I will either be at the truck stop just off the off ramp -OR- I will be on the off ramp itself. I know Srodocker will be bringing a column from Tacoma Mall area.

If you plan on meeting up with the rest of us at EXIT 99 Saturday morning of 16JUL between 0700-0730hrs, please respond to this thread pushing the "Thank" button below (ON POST #345). I just want an approximate headcount, know who to look for, and pass any updates to the plan to your PM should any changes come up.

When convoying south we will maintain a slowest enough speed so everyone can keep up. I don't want to loose anyone (insert mother duck:wink: ).

Exit 99 is just south of Tumwater on I-5

If you haven't already done so please "THANK" post #345 or this post so I can have an approximate headcount. Again I will be at exit 99 on or before 0700 hrs. The plan is to depart at 0730 hrs so we can make it to Napavine around 0830. This will allow us to get settled in, eat, and prep our vehicles for the parade.

***SUNDAY MORNING SCHEDULE UPDATE***

Please review Sunday morning's schedule in the first post. This year we are offering a Sunday morning service for those who wish to attend (no pressure guys). I know the majority of us are coming from out of the area to attend this outstanding event Aaron and his wife have been so gracious to put on. I don't know if there's a demand for a Sunday morning service but I have felt it on my heart to offer an abbreviated service (no bells and whistles here). It will be a non-denominational type of service. I don't proclaim myself to be a pastor nor a chaplain so please don't expect anything too fancy;-). If you would like to help out please PM me (need some vocals as I am not a singer;-) )
Service is scheduled for 0700 hrs (maybe about 15-20 minutes long)

Awesome, Mike.

I wish I could make this event, but alas, I have other things going on.

Hi Harold, hopefully things will change for you so you can attend. Definately a great time to be had by all. This is one of my highlights of the year!

I am the escort to a convention, with my wife. Tickets paid for. I am also the driver. No way I can back out of this one.

Other get togethers will come up. I'll see more green (Tan) iron as the days go along.

Y'all drive safe. Keep the greasy side down and the flat green side up!

ATTENTION!

We will be doing a SATURDAY MORNING convoy meet at 6am
LoL Scott I was all for it until I read the 6am part, sure you don't want to go for 0400? That way we could do a rock drill/rehearsal for the convoy and perhaps PCI's (pre-combat/execution inspections)? Just kidding but seriously no way I am getting up that early on a day off.

We get lined up for the parade by the numbers mike gives us. your a vet so you will be up towards the front for the parade. and after we get back from the parade we grab a bit to eat back at aarons place then we line of for the convoy whoever gets in line first I think.

This year only the active duty and veterans will get the parade and convoy assignment numbers.of once they fall in first then everyone will fall in after them.this will save the hassle we had last year of running all over the 5 acres. again only the military guys will get the numbers this year and everyone else for will fall in behind them in no particular order

If you are looking for non recycled diesel, Exit 72 has a truck stop, with about as reasonable a price as you will find
and the fuel is fresh. So maybe fuel when you pull off to go up to Aaron's.
