Santa Fe 3751 (Los Angeles-San Bernardino) Feat. High Speed Pace! - YouTube My favorite steam locomotive the Santa Fe 3751, the oldest Northern type 4-8-4 steam locomotive in existence. Built in May of 1927 by Baldwin and she will celebrate her 100th birthday in 2027. She just finished a major FRA required overhaul that took about 6 years. Her home is at Amtrak's Redondo Yard in Los Angeles. She was on display at Viaduct Park in San Bernadino from 1956 till 1986 when she was rescued by the San Bernadino Railway Historical Society. She made her return to steam in 1991 on a trip from LA to Bakersfield, CA. In this video she is running down the middle of the 10 freeway south of Los Angeles.
