We are thinking of disconnecting the cab also.... if not now when then ever ?? my wife is already "not glad" about our work of stripping. She can´t imagine fixing it again :eek: but she trust her husband and her son to do that. 😇

also that rubber connectors for the exhaustsystem, I guess you can order seperatly the rubber and the metalclamps
Don´t find a number or a description of that part. Metalclamps are no problem to got, but these rubbers fit exactly, I could used some cutted rubber blocks - but if there anywhere is a designed sparepart, than i like to use this.

a lot of parts appear for renew like the Shock absorbers, stabilizer bushings, steering damper, bolt, nuts, rubberparts....

It would be a waste of money and time not to do everything conscientiously here now. We have increased the budget again, as always in our projects. As a rule, the first estimate is usually only 50% of the expected volume. The time will continue to sit in our neck, because we can not extend this. In July 2022, the truck has to be back on the road for the two-year test for road approval.

There is always some gambling involved when taking apart 25 year old parts. Apart from one seal, there were fortunately no other losses here.
We descided to order a complete new seal-kit for windows and doors.

1/8 of the frame is derusted - I didn't expect to sweep so much out of the shed.... Of course there is also some dirt, but unfortunately also surface rust.

I could not finish the job because my son wanted to install a new door lock on his Audi and needed my assistance. Four hands were better than two in that case, i know now why. 3 hours later, we were finally ready to reassemble the completely disassembled door... or rather, the lock had to be surgically dissected free.
I need to disassembling the Chevy door less than 2 hours out of destroy anything.

Unfortunately, my request to the employer for a larger machine parts washer was not granted. 😇 :unsure::ROFLMAO:

My wife started derusting the frame on Saturday and she is not satisfied at all! We can't get to the twisty parts
In that job i can share now my wifes expierence:
The Makita DGA517RTJ Akku was not so sucessful like the bigger 230V machine.
I thought maybe its easier for her with the smaller Makita.... wrong idea of me. After 2 hours where she than changed on the bigger she asked me how i could let her work so hard with that Baby Machine.... Women.....

So take today an offer for sandblasting the frame in next town of us
200-300 Euro for the cleaned and greasefree frame - Due to current order situation waiting time of 3-4 weeks.

Well we are flexibel - we changed from derust frame to disamble frame ;)
Time til sandblasting will be spent on axles, cab, doors, cargobox - enough others still to do

i did not have to lost anything in trying to clean and sandblasting - saved!

Wow! I can not get parts within the USA in 5 days sometimes. USPS will haul them all over the country until they figure out where they go! Some parts I never get! UPS can lose parts too!
This does not happen all the time, but it does happen.

it come by FedEx. This was the third order and all was fast and reliable. Shipping costs, fees and tax are high but still the summery of all 30% less as i would buy in a shop in germany.

WOW someone really went wild with the red paint. That cowl rust is more prevalent then most people realize. You are doing the right thing stripping everything out of that cab to do the blasting and repaint. I see guys painting entire cabs with the seatbelts and glass still attached. What a waste of time. Keep going I am watching closely. Happy Holidays.

it was a professional painter in 1999 but done his work bad. We was on court with him and so he must done his job twice.
Nothing is more worse as a bad poor and sloppy preparatory work.

The most importan sparepart is delivered
There was only the option to take the complete remanufactored Humvee-Engine - so I have to change some subsystems

Of course, not everything can go smoothly .... the nut welded into the profile of the cabin had come loose. I had to drill a hole to weld it there again, otherwise I could not have loosened the holder.

i have been looking for the specifications of a screw from the seat belt to replace it.
With the help of the NSM number (see TM 9-2320-289-20P) I was able to see the desired information on the website and can now order me a corresponding screw with the correct specifications.

The frame is ready for sandblasting so i can go on with the axles.

Start to bring them up in a good workingposition :D

Oil change and replacement of the oil seals were due 15 years ago for storage. We put it off until reactivation. Since there are no problems with the axle other than the oil leak, the only thing left to do is to replace the seals.

If I had ordered the spare parts with the last order, the rear axle would have been ready today. Unfortunately, I noticed too late . So now I'm still waiting for wheel bearing, wheel bearing seal ring, seal stub axle and differential lock nut.
I wonder why the differential has no oil drain plug. ....
