I was attached as an engineer to a unit in El Paso. We where there to repair and improve the Border Patrols weapons ranges and the access roads on the levy and along the border. While we where there we also had the job of welding repairs to the fence along the levy. There where so many hols cut into the fence and once you finished a repair it wasn't an hour before we where called back to the same location to fix the same hole. After a year or so we suggested electrifying the border fence. The Border Patrol liked the idea but Homeland Security wasn't to hip to the idea. So we suggested signs like this as a deterrent. I was transferred before any decision was made.
