With my Sound deadening in, my results are: 71 db idle. 80 "Country roads" (35-45 mph) and 86 highway. These are ranges for the most part, but thats about average. Originally I was 76 idle. 85 country roads. 90 highway.
at idle and on country roads the noise is almost all engine noise. On the highway though, the wind and tire noise drowns out the engine. if I let off the throttle and "coast" down hill, it may drop only to 85 decibels.
I did 120mil Siless butyl sheets, I did not do full coverage. then I used siless 1/4" foam and then 1lb MLV. On the tunnel I put some strech carpet over the mlv. I also built a center console which I lined with mlv and filled with some foam from seat cushions. The center console didnt really make any difference.
