Toby, How could you do that?? Take pictures of my transmission during it's weakest moment...Then Post the pictures on the interweb for all to see. It will take years of therapy for my transmission to regain it's self esteem. I just hope the M35A3 dont see those photos, she is so sensitve. All my other trucks are now concerned, the wrecker wants to know. "Who posted those pics"? I'm trying to keep your name out of it.Update to Joe on At 1545. The good and bad. Your torque converter is toast...the rest is rebuildable but got damaged by metal that had to come from the TC. Fourth melted the piston but not so bad. Piston seal was 1/2 and heat did not get to the springs. Magnetic metal went from TC into everything. The governor had metal in the bearing and would hardly turn. We thought about sleeve but think it will clean up. Cleaning will go to every corner.
Let me know on arranging TC rebuild at Dacco.....you have no choice as we are sure there were no other sources of magnet metal.
Doc found a slight hemorrhage, not terminal cancer, so give her a pat on the ...... and let her know she will be whole again soon.Toby, How could you do that?? We have them on one of our fire trucks and they work just fine. They operate by using the slight pressure differential between the air system being full and when brakes are applied to open and expel water and junk. I had manual drains and they worked ok, but after the second time both cables broke I decided to switch! Install is super simple...unscrew old, hand-screw new into bottom of tank and tighten...done.I just got done shorting my cables and installing ferrules on them. Cattlerepairman those autodrains look handy I plan on putting a dryer on mine at some point. Have you used those autodrains before? Wondering how well they work?
Love the camo pattern!Had a tire changing day! It was a lot easier when I was 20!View attachment 769955
