I thought it was weird as well. I thought someone painted it that way. But once I saw it in person, I realized that it was CARC paint with all of the markings still on the truck. I bought it in April 2024....but I believe I am the second civilian owner.
Strangely enough after I bought it, I found a video on YouTube when it when was auctioned off by Government Liquidations at Nellis AFB, Nevada. The date on the video says it was uploaded 10 years ago. It had 54k on the odometer then....it has 58k now.
Here's the video....it's definitely my girl...I can tell by certain markings and such. For example, when they pan around the engine bay, you can see someone wrote "GOOD" on the GEN2 alternator...you can see the same from my belt pics in my prior post above. The video says it's M1010, but they went off the door data plate. At some point, someone swapped out the door with one from an ambulance. It's definitley an M1028.
