If you are not going to do any wheeling you can mount it up under the bumper. I do wheeling so I mounted mine up on the roof rack and just ran an LED projection lamp up to the M1009 roof. my Son has his mounted on his spare tire on the left side of the front bed. No light. Other M1008's that are road driven and plowed hard I removed the pintle hook and put it in where civilian trucks have them in the center of the bumper. I guess put it anywhere you want it. Find out if it requires a light and go from there. Pennsylvania requires a lighted tag area on regular inspected vehicles. With an antique tag they do NOT require inspection or a lighted tag. So mostly it is up to you. I would put it where you like it and light it up. I have been stopped a few times with my antique tags and then set free when they see it is an antique tag. happy Holidays. Good question. easy answer you decide light it up and screw it fast. How do you all mount your rear registration tag(LP)?
