I have never dealt with getting an LEO escort so I put in an inquiry with the Gwinnett County LEO to see what I need to do. So before we get too close to April 26th the better planned this can work out.

Either from my place to the event and back or from the event down to the DZ.

Anybody have a good recipe Rocky Mountain oysters or do you cook that east of the Mississippi?

PS I counted; there are three members posting to this thread who are from west of the Mississippi, two are from Texas and one is from Louisana.

I’ll bet USAFSS-ColdWarrior or Tinwoodsman could add something about barbeque or Jeepsinker could chip in two bits about shrimp.

Wow, I love the support! Zout, I had originally thought of open to noon with the convoy but if you would hold the chow line and we could stay till 1PM and cover a full 50% of their event. I have a few local police chiefs that are friends. I can ask them what it would take to get an escort.

Location of the event is Gwinnett County Fair Grounds:2405 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30045

Event starts @ 10AM. I would bring donuts and be on station by 8:30 or 9AM for all parties participating. Will need a roll call so I can arrange proper parking area and Donut allocation.

I'll be there with my M35A2

If anyone has questions fee free to post here or PM me.

Zout getting a LEO escort is not that hard, go speeding through town, crash into people and leave the scene of the crime, rob a bank and numerous other items would create the necessary situation for a LEO escort

The fair grounds is around 14 miles away folks.
Offer to check with local LEO would be great as I got a reply back before I left work - looks like I would need a voodoo doll with pins to get some help. Its not a major issue just as long as you have a safe leader that knows how to watch his troopers behind him you may not need one. We would not be expecting to run lights on a straight though shot anyhow - especially up HWY 124.

I'll cook anything if its donated other than what main course I am getting and some side dishes for the younger folk. If I could wiggle a "fresh" BOS I might consider letting Ron drive the Jokers WILD up - will think about that - hope there are no tree's in his way.

Andy - 1 pm is ok with me for holding chow line - your orders are to take the ball and get your plans set for pre cookout support for Cub Scouts - Like the A Team - I love it when a plan comes together.
MAYBE - Swiss can arrange for some of them General Assembly folks to come and see just how fricking awesome SteelSoldiers are.

Thank you for the offer, but I plan to have the 819 there just in case you have some over weight chickens to put on the grill.

Just so we all keep this straight - PIG for the REAL Zout cookout will be done in August for the Gun Truck Gathering in Columbus.

Other some form of meaty substance you will not be disappointed with will be done April 26. Other details will be posted up later - we need to figure out this Cub Scout thingy for now as I already know what I am doing.

BUT - I do have some very large meaty substance that may take a wrecker to once again lift onto the grill.

OK guys. I'm texting, calling and emailing trying to set up details on everything from the Scout side. Remember these are volunteers so I can't demand their complete attention. As soon as I know anything I will post.

Thank you for the culinary endorsement.
I must confess however that I seldom cook outdoors (though I am "cook A" here at home) we prefer letting someone else handle the barbequing if we don't have to. There are plenty of delicious and reasonably priced BBQ pits around San Angelo (and most of Texas). Some of our favorites have names like BUBBA's Bar-B-Q, and BODACIOUS, and R.J.'s, and others. Don't misunderstand... I am fully capable and PREPared (read as PREPPER'd) to do all the outdoor cooking in the event of the Poop-Hit-The-Fan event, but until then it's Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho it's out to eat we go!!!!

Count me in for the convoy and cookout. I put it on my calendar as "Zout's Cookout and BS Convoy." It seems like Zout and BS always come together. 😜

Its not hard to hold something - and I always contribute the success of them to the folks who come - they are the ones who make things happen - just logical.

IF PB is hinting to what I think he is saying - what an awesome way for Swiss to invite NOW any of the Ga General Assembly folks to ride shotgun in the back on "point" - then they can see what this is all about (maybe future MV owners there as well.)

Andy - They will require a direct line of sight to pull into and be able to leave unobstructed and someone to hold the kids back (an some parents) so they do not run into the line of travel of these till fully parked up there.

I understand the volunteer angle - but in a couple weeks I would like to be able to post up full details and itinerary of the cookout - some folks need weeks to plan stuff and I can plan anything in a heartbeat.

Then if WM comes - it sure seems like a good section of FILM to have available for a production company in case needed for the files to add to a film - besides we can preview it to give it all a THUMBS UP as well.
