You do have to admire Commander Zouts ability to control the paint gun and notice that there is not a ton of taping. He painted with the cover on the rear bed. Crazy. I have seen him do this kind of detail personally and it is an art.

Thank you Commander :)

Suppose to rain later tonight - so the plan is to clean off the windshield before I hear any more about it & get on the interior of the cab taping data plates - gauges etc all off and prepare for paint warfare. Do not want that liquid humidity interupting any paint if I were to shoot the interior tonight so it will be put on hold till Tue - but I can have it ready.

I can also get that cargo cover lifted and tied back as well to continue on - cab cover is going to wait till I know there is a long stretch of dry weather - easy pickings.

When I first saw the windshields with over spray in the pics I thought "Doc" had come up to give you a hand painting!! He was in ATL Saturday.:naner:

EH - I did have some beers MIA from the fridge - and that painting glass is a tale tale sign of DOC - that sneeky fella might have been in and out before I had a chance to see him.

Commander Zouts ability to control the paint gun

Its absolutely amazing what CROWN can help you do when your a nutcase holding a spray gun.

ANYHOW - a word from out sponsor100_1842.jpg Now that the business end is done - got the interior taped off and yes I see that little corner of a data plate that need a tad touch of tape. Swiss has some things going on soft tops and some extra hands on pulling up that cargo cover - I'll get onto pressure washing the inside of the cargo area tomorrow and seems fitting as we need to pull the soft top anyhow - just might as well do all at once. HEY its a miracle - razor blades do work on getting light paint off glass. Wish I would have invented them and I could sit back and watch other folks doing this. Towards the end of the week - ground dries up I have to lay on I'll get onto the underside of the chassis.100_1843.jpg100_1844.jpg100_1845.jpg100_1846.jpg

I switched to a 1.8 spray tip for the thickness (even though thinned) to get the coverage with this product - for those taking notes.

OK - seeing how the weather was fricking awesome tonight - I started with the interior (I was honkering to see it come to life) and it still needs the second coat - I left the window and passenger door open to get a good dry out tonight as the weather is getting better into the weekend - I think she will be good like that till tomorrow night.

Re-sprayed a second coat on the hood as well and gave the drop sides another coat - it takes a little bit more for me to be happy with an end project.
Advised Swiss I will pick up a second gallon of 34094 green tomorrow on the way home as its suppose to be in the 70's tomorrow - so anything on the interior you see still in tan will be dead as nails when I am done and into GREEN.

When the slacker ever decides to show up to help remove the cargo cover - I will get it pressure washed on the inside and finish the dropside framework - as well in between the cab and box.

Here are a few pics100_1847.jpg100_1847.jpg100_1848.jpg100_1848.jpg100_1849.jpg100_1850.jpg100_1851.jpg posting pics on whatever change has been make totally sucks.

Love when a plan comes together. The problem is with this looking so good I am going to have to watch to keep the man from coming back to get his truck :)

Most awesome Commander Zout!

Just need to be carefull shooting that dash - like the back sides of the drop side - lots of obstacles in the way that cause turbulance with the spray - when you think your getting the area's sprayed you also might be just as well creating huge runs when you go back and look at it - just because your trying to work around all those area's to make sure everything is covered.

So the best thing to do is STOP - clean up the guns and wait - I actually need pictures as its a drag being color blind - so what you see and what I see are entirely different beasts. From pictures I can tell and you as well when you see the under sides of the dash area's where it needs the coverage - shoot that - then turn up the air on the gun and lighter spray and give it all a second coat (did someone say that would be done tonight :)

Swiss coming over to open my beers tonight (sponsor input) and remove that cargo cover so I can finish up on the back.

The delivery came - Swiss got the cargo cover off and loaded up in his truck - had one light load of paint mixed to keep after that dash that needs to be sprayed in increments - just keep after it till it comes into color without nailing it hard with paint and they watch the runs dribble off onto the flooring. SO - as you can see we have at least one more dash spraying to come.

Got sprayed on the drop sides as far as I pressure washed - will get the rest washed off and ready for spraying as well.

If the weather holds out after Friday morning into the weekends (calling for severe thunderstorms thur late till fri morn) will get that cab cover off and kick its butt.
Everything on the back end is easy pickings - its the cab that really needs some time to work with - then when that's all done its onto the underside of the chassis.100_1852.jpg100_1853.jpg100_1854.jpg
