Anyone believe this about adding Seafoam to the crank case? Terminus seems to have a flickering oil light. Engine sounds ok no knocking but it does have a few taps to it. I can't tell the difference. It does have clean oil all the time and it does not seem to use oil. I do have 30 wt in it now. Maybe some 20 50 would take care of the oil light. And it is not on above idle and not always on either when idling. Just asking. Sending unit maybe? I am not going to add a gauge. I am basically asking about the Seafoam products.

Not really a comment on seafoam, but your advice in the past to any one who posts of symptoms of head or head gasket damage has been to take apart motor and do a proper repair (not bad advice).

Have you considered hooking up a gauge just to check oil pressure? It does not have to be a permanent installation.

It could be a worn oil pump, not so bad to replace, or needs new crank and bearings, a pain, but no worse than changing cylinder heads. Of coarse, if it is clogged oil passages, the seafoam might fix it with no effort. Maybe put an oil gauge on to see if pressure improves during the seafoam application.

Don't get me wrong, I would try the chemical fix first on an old truck too, I'm just asking. In fact, after the blue devil block sealer product repaired my leaky block so well, I'm going to try their head gasket repair formula in a somewhat played out 1028a2/dump truck with leaky head, as an experiment, I can always do the repair correctly if it does not work.

I think I will just put it out for sale while it still runs so well and let someone else mess with it or use it. I have a few more CUCV's that I have to get working on. I will have to come up with another project to amuse myself. This one has sort of played itself out. I still have a nice M1009/MMIX that needs a frame. That looks like fun. And I have a few others sitting around that I can work on. My time is better spent in the garage and working on other vehicles. Don't get me wrong I like Terminus M1009 and it has proven itself. But now it needs 4 tires and that is where I draw the line. Not spending that kind of money on a toy. I will keep my eyes open for used. But 15" tires with sturdy side walls are far a few between. Running the 30 year old Goodyear Wranglers I have laying around was counter productive. Ideally I should have a set of Goodyear MTR's. But not likely going to spend that. I even thought of putting antique tags on it and running it. But I have a 4WD so that would not be wise. Have a great day. More reports on projects to come.

Well in my case I used Red Angel from the makers of Blue Devil. I think you are an Angel to do the job correctly and a blue devil to waste your time with snake oil formulas. The Red Angel is used for slight A/C leaks. So far all it has done is help find the leak. Never fixed one yet with these expensive garbage formulas. Guaranteed to work unless it leaks out. Then the hole was too big to attempt this type of repair anyway. HUH??? Read all the fine print. Must hold 15 lbs of vacuum for 5 minutes to work. how is that going to happen if it is leaking in the first place? Optional 5 lbs vacuum for 25 minutes. Yea OK. And do not use in electrically driven compressors. That just about covers nothing I ever work on. Replace what ever is leaking and recharge. Repairs done right the first time.

I am off work for a week and using the time to get a bit of winter prep time done. I cleaned the chimney, replaced the stove pipes and cleaned up the scrap pile. I sat out a lot of down pours during loading and after it was loaded. Seemed like when I was needed to be outside it wanted to rain. I scrapped 3 trailer loads today. Scrap is low in value but it has to go. lots of old CUCV leaf springs again this year. The gauges are in my Crown of Thorns M1009. Pictured. I was bored and wanted to check out under the hood and just get an eyeball on a few things. I always find it is wise to check things out closely every so often. Started with a coat and ended with a tee shirt. I like the stickers in the truck. When ever I find a new decal I like it gets put on. Liability nowadays. Take care have a great day. Are you saying my projects look that bad? Scrap? Thanks. That's OK. I get it. I have stock CUCV's. Not many want them here. But I know lots of people outside of here. Basically I know about 5 people here. My scrap is worth as much or more then some vehicles I seen. Scrap is low now. Remember I said I like working with things others toss out. But when I scrap it, it is scrap. No more projects anymore for that scrap. Just $$$ Have a great day. At least now I know where I stand.8)

I was building snow plow trucks and I never needed any of them parts. Here is one I was keeping for an M1009 I have stored in my barn. But I already welded all the holes shut in the 1/4's so I don't need it anymore. It has a bracket attached. I know nothing about it. Let me know. it weighs 27 lbs as it sits there.

I'll take it.

That mount tray/bracket that's bolted to the rack...is it military, or something someone fabbed up? If its not for a specific radio, you can leave that off if it makes it easier to ship.

That is how I removed it directly from the military. Picked up a NAVICP in Mechanicsburg in the late 90's. I will let it attached. You will see it's usefulness.

That plate attached is a sponson/mount for a M151 series jeep, it attaches to the jeep fender and the MT-1029 radio mount attaches to it. It's not needed on the M1009 rack as the MT-1029 bolts directly to the mount. It's nice to see he saved the 3 legs, those are usually missing.

well it's going with it. I have enough time in this job. I see pinched fingers and band aids. But Really it is at the ship point and I will just ship it as is. sooner then run and get it and bring it back and forth. Maybe it is worth something and the buyer can recover some of the costs. But it must have worked in the M1009. It was in there when I bought it. Thank you for the ID. It was scrap to me. I remember some were spring mounted bases that I recycled. But I didn't know.

After hearing of the horrors of rusted floors I wanted to share my floors conditions. Most I see have the guns butts area completely gone. I think this is fair condition in comparison to the ones I see guys fixing. I think a set of tires and some Pennsylvania Antique tags and someone would have a great winter vehicle. I don't need one but maybe someone. Have a great day.

Ole Terminus M1009 is going out on the road for the winter. My Son needs winter transportation to and from work. Why not everything works on the ole Terminus M1009. He is looking to find 2 tires LT235/75R15 winter treads and can run with the other 2 tires that are on it. We will see. I know it starts and runs fine. A bit of road rash but so what. Good reliable inexpensive transportation with 4WD is hard to find. Happy Holidays.
