ha ! At first I was gonna make a play off the "doctor" thing , until I saw your updated comment.
So you are a DVM these days?
You know... Deuce Vehicle Mechanic... ?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!

Nice, that's on my future to do list for my 64 model!
Oil filters are not too much a problem for me so far, however the fuel filters are another story. Definitely will look into a spin on set up for at least the two twin secondary filters.Saw no reason for the stock configuration to leak, yet they did, not anymore
Edit: in hindsight I do not at all care for the shiny aluminum parts on my engine, wish I had painted it first and I shall still, with a little brush, maybe filters too with a spray can
So buy brake cleaner by the barrel. NotedFinally finished a large serving on Deuce 2 to include:
6 new inner hub seals
4 new outer axle seals
2 new front axle tube seals
6 new axle lock washers
6 new brake cylinders and associated banjo bolts, washers, etc.
All new rubber brake lines
4 new hard lines on front and center axle
Power bled brakes twice with DOT 5 silicone fluid
New heavy duty tie rod from Boyce Equipment CO.
2 NOS tie rod ends
4 New king pin bushings and shims
2 new black silicone axle boots
4 new boot clamps
2 new inner wheel bearings on front axle
2 new outer wheel bearings on front axle
24 new spindle studs with new washers and nuts
Used a thread chase on all 36 wheel studs
CONSUMABLES
Over 100 cans of brake cleaner
9 rolls of blue shop towels
1 can of Cyclo Break Away
All said and done, it was tons of fun!
On second note, I hear the stock ones do not have the backflow valve like spin ons.Saw no reason for the stock configuration to leak, yet they did, not anymore

Where do you get a kit.like this?
I doubt you will ever need the flame heater while in Florida. It's primary use was to heat up the incoming air enough to get the LD series engines to start when the temp was at 0 degrees F or lower. All new lines will help, but it remains a point of failure that most of us in the south can avoid.More work on Deuce 2…
Replaced 6 fuel injectors, new copper washers and new rubber injector seals
Replaced fuel Injector return line to include all new fittings
Replaced primary fuel filter
Replaced fuel tank to primary filter head hose
Replaced hose from primary fuel filter head to injection pump
Replaced fuel hose to flame heater and replaced flame heater filter
We have property in the Pacific Northwest and I will be taking Deuce 2 out there so want to be able to start in the negative temp range. Deuce 1 has its flame heater deleted as it will live in Florida,I doubt you will ever need the flame heater while in Florida. Morse Code is still alive-and-well?!Got old rubber items replaced (hoses, fan belts, wheel seals, etc) just in time for Winter Field Day 2024, an amateur radio activity.
You got yourself a right nice looking garage there, BGR. Sweet! My buddy got my hood lift kit mounted for me this week. I got two kits from a member on here and they seem to be worth every penny.
I wish, it's my buddy's auto shop, Magnolia Auto Service. He does a lot of good work for me.You got yourself a right nice looking garage there, BGR. Sweet!
