That's the strainer if you order a set of wix filters you can rob one of the gaskets out of the filter kit and use that
Are the filters the same in all three canisters? If I'm replacing one, I guess I should replace all, that is if they exist. When I order the filters, do you have a preference
I know for a fact the one from the filter kit will fit I have done it on that exact model
Where did you purchase the filter kit? This is crazy, this is the only thing that's holding me up.

All I can find so far are the spin on filters and they require a new mountaing. Did you have that problem? if not I need to know the site for the drop in filters.

sorry had to get back to the office, Amazon, Wix 33511. buy 3 of them. use 1 gasket in the strainer, use the other 2 to replace the filters and gaskets. the unused filter can be used later with the replaced but slightly used gasket

The same gasket fits all three canisters. Look up the gasket in the TM and plug the part number into your search engine.

There is also supposed to be a copper washer under the domed nut.

Perhaps if you look at the parts TM, it will be clearer to you.

Waiting for the filters now, but just another small issiue. What tool do you use to remove the filter canisters ? I used and oil filter wrench and was successful getting one off but the other two refuse to loosen. I'm sure i'll figure it out, but if you have a special tool.

Filters take the large bolt off on the top center of the housing (think its 5\8) it has a smallwr bolt sticking out of it (1\4) that's also your bleed screw).

Other helpful things to look at: pay close attention to the IN and OUT on the filter castings, Ive had these backwards before. change the filters and open the bleed screw on the first filter (center unit) and set the main switch to prime and run. when fuel leaks from the bleeder do the same on the 2nd filter.

modern diesel (ultra low sulfur) isnt as oily as older fuels, I would recommend a lubricant additive. I personally use a product on amazon called Hot Shot's Secret Everyday Diesel Treatment.

Really thanks for that, I could see the drain plug, but that little nut missed my eye. Sure helps to what the H your doing. :))))) Just waiting for filters now and then she's out of here. Have a great weekend.

Going back to the fuel filters, The original filters were Fram C1125, which are 100% correct, but becoming difficult to locate.
The Wix filters will work, but the hole in the center of the filter is smaller and requires you to either remove the 3 winged "centering" device that is pressed onto the center tube of the 2 fuel filter canisters, or you have to cut, bend or otherwise modify the top of the filter body to make the Wix filters fit over the wings.
The gaskets will fit fine in any of the 3 housings, for the record they are typically called square cut rings. O-Rings won't work correctly, too risky that the canister will push the o-ring to the side and leak.

And its not a bad thing to do, maybe get 2-3 of the copper washers that go under the nut holding the water separator canister. They are soft, and you can damage them. Drop the only one you have into a place where you can not get to it, or not find it, and you will know why we kept 10 ea. washers in our bench stock.
