    NHC 250 Valve adjustment problem

Well, the fix was actually quite simple. The #3 exhaust push tube came out of the lifter cup. What had me stumped was that the rocker moved when rotating the engine before. This was due to the push tube touching the camshaft lobe. Hopefully the cam is still fine. Got everything adjusted...

    NHC 250 Valve adjustment problem

I will double check the timing before going further, but I can turn it over 360 degrees and my #3 exh. lever is still pushed tight against the push tube w/o the adjuster in, so something else is still off. Don't recall any bad noises when it ran last, but it was so long ago who knows.

    NHC 250 Valve adjustment problem

I was thinking the accessory drive timing was correct as I was able to adjust 3 other cylinders just fine. I also watched the #3 exhaust rocker and at it's highest point of travel there is still no slack. Not quite sure what you mean about the threads sticking out of the lever. I too was...

    NHC 250 Valve adjustment problem

I've read the sticky on this, and following that got 3 of the cylinders adjusted easily. My problem is when trying to adjust cylinder 3. I have the pulley in the correct spot, and know I'm on cylinder 3 to adjust, but the exhaust rocker has no play. I've taken the adjustment screw completely...

    M342a2 on Singles

Worked the truck a little this last weekend. Did great, finally starting to enjoy this thing after years of owning it.

    Odd Air pack question

I've seen his thread. Rather than do the conversion, it is probably easier and cheaper to just start with a decent M939 series truck.

    Odd Air pack question

I have an XM818 (or most of one), that I don't know what to do with, but have been tossing around some ideas in my melon. It's either come up with something or part it out. I know on these trucks the brakes work when flat towed, when hooked up to the towed trucks service line. Which proves...

    M342a2 on Singles

I had read about that, and was hoping that was all it was. When I bought it I think it had barely been used for a few years, just slowly around the former owners horse farm. Then I sat on it for a few years as well, only starting it occasionally. When I got it out last year I drove it pretty...

Thanks I was really happy to get those troop seats from you. After hours cleaning out rotten wood in the pockets they slid right in.

    M342a2 on Singles

I've been off the site for awhile, but have been working on my tipper trying to get it road worthy. I was able to get it driving well enough to get it out on the road some last fall. Hoping to get a few more things buttoned up so I can drive it the 250 miles from hunting camp to my house next...

    M342a2

How much? I'm headed to Lockbourne soon to get some 395's for mine. Not that I want to spend more money after buying tires, but I've never seen a set of troop seats for sale. PM me if you'd like.

Lower King Pin Bearing Cap Stuck???

I must not have been fully awake this morning when I typed that. You can remove the knucle w/o dissasembling the upper cap and bushing. Still need to have the lower out. Sorry about that. You can still probably pound down through the lower dust shield onto the lower pin to help jar it loose...

Lower King Pin Bearing Cap Stuck???

Typically I go at the stuck ones w/ an air chisel to break both sides free, then rock it out w/ two pry bars. It will nick up the edges, but it doesn't really harm anything, just grind them smooth afterwards. The pin doesn't like to let go of the bearing. You can also remove the knuckle...

    wolverine technologies

I emailed about buying one and he said his CC machine wasn't working and to send a check. I didn't like that answer so I have been sitting on buying anything for now.

    UP of Michigan

Welcome from a temporarily displaced yooper. I'm from Gladstone (living in cheesehead land for now), still have camp up in Trenary and am there about every other weekend in the summer. You don't own an xm818 do you? I saw one driving through escanaba pulling a van trailer last weekend.
