Hello to all my Military vehicle addicted friends. Been a long time since I have been on. I have been busy raising my 3 boys. And now we went out yesterday and bought a M923A2. I'm back in the game...lol To friends old and new. And some of my Brethren, Glad to be back!

Looking good Travis...!
I saw that you did a conversion to your alternator. They have a 24v alt. It is the same on KOMATSU W180-1 That has the Cummins 5.9 and 24v system. I can get you a part number for you. you can get them from Napa. Or just to have the number on hand for a reference for the...
Couldn't have said that statement better!!
The PTO winch I had on the back of the M543 was kinda dangerous to use as opposed to hydraulic. It has the Air operated clutch on the unit but there always is a possibility of it not disengaging.
My experience with cranes from 10T TO 600T hydraulic...
We've tried that. The shear pin breaks. But if you double it it works good until the pin shears again. Single line even the 12k 24v over the pto the electric has won. Only winch better is the hydraulic.
Well from experience and burying a deuce with the shear pin and doubling the cable it struggles to pull it self out. I have seen the 18k winch not even grunt winching out a 14,000lb deuce.
I agree the electric work pretty good. Caveman TRUCKS on here installs them on his bobbed deuces and his personal trucks. And the wheel them pretty hard!
With the amps they draw on the newer designs they are pretty reliable.
