Best advise I was given: "Do not buy the first deuce you look at." Even if you really like it, look at a couple more, then if you still like it go back. I was glad that I passed on the first couple I looked at. Definately crawl under them, there is alot to be said for the underside of a Deuce.

My 2002 GMC GVW plate indicates 9200 lbs plus. It is a 3/4 ton 4x4 ext cab. No gvw plate just Standard. I can not justify the plate or insurance quotes for maybe taking the truck on road 6 times a year or less. Farm plate would be decent if i could get reasonable insurance. My truck is...

Welcome to the green addiction! You will also want to figure out what kind of options you want on your truck. There are many flavors of the Deuce, with Winch, without Winch, Cab Heater, Cold Start Package etc... Best place to start is the Technical Manuals that are available here, read them...

I'm sure a good shop could use same O.D. pipe that is heavier, then they could bore the ends to accept the Yoke, that at least would allow the main portion of the shaft to be stronger. I'm in the process of adding a pto to my truck, I will be learning alot of this, hopefully not the hard way...

While I believe HOA's are stupid, If the violation he is supposedly violating is written simply as a "Truck" I believe they are going to either have to ban ALL Trucks or allow his. Now they will likely re-define their rule, however he should be grandfathered in for as long as he has his truck...

Wow, After seeing this and reading the thread, I'll never run my machine over 2200 rpms again. Previously, what i had read, and assumed based on the "Danger" sticker on the tach, was that 2600 was the redline, apparently 2200 is really the truth??? Good luck and hopefully you can get the truck...
