    diesel in crankcase

Just saw this. The pipe plugs are on the bottom of the FP main housing. They are there to add accessories, like a high idle governor, that require fuel. There is just gear pump fed fuel behind those plugs, no need to drain from them. Have you had the pump looked at yet?

New Deuce owner and need help badly

Could be just a giant restriction or air too. Any one of those and a non-op in tank pump would cause major start/run issues.

    Battery replacement

And keeping the batteries the same. Don't, well, one SHOULDN'T mix different CCA /group batteries together.

    American Coleman Tug

If anyone finds the manuals, how big are they? The reason I ask is that IF they are found, and relatively small, I can turn them into a PDF and then post them on the site.

Do your old drums measure the same as the new ones?

Cj tug fuel filter part number?

Apparently, IHC used this engine in the Scout II, but in the turboed version. From what I have garnered from a quick Google search, both engines used the same FF. Baldwin BF941. However, since I am not familiar with it, the end user might have specified a more common filter that they might...

Cj tug fuel filter part number?

I do not recall a MB based aircraft tug in WWII, I THINK what you might have is a CJ10. I have only seen two of these and, IIRC, they were Nissan diesel powered and I think it was an SD33, 6 cylinder. So, I think this should be moved to a place that might yield better results for your question...

The curious case of the M923A2 Shut Off Solenoid.

Somewhere here on SS I posted up about the resistance values and how the circuits work of the FSOV. The one pictured in the first post is a Trombetta, they were VERY problematic. They were changed to the Synchrostart brand and things were much better. The biggest issues on the C and B for that...

The Mysterious International Harvester-built Dodge/Plymo 318 engine , to blow your mind

Another fun fact about IHC/Navistar casting. Navistar has been casting blocks and heads for the B 4.5, 5.9 and 6.7 for years now. The way to tell if it is a Navistar cast component is the presence of the Navistar "diamond" and a funky patch on blocks that are just a bunch of raised dots. I was...

    The next Project an ASMH

After all of that, I decided to see if the slip assembly would come out. Keep in mind, I do have the TM for the wrecker body and did skim through it, mostly looking at the pictures, just because it's a visual thing, who needs to read, right? Figured I would start with the top plate, there are...

    The next Project an ASMH

@BLK HMMWV , I had it sitting on the bench out the front door and walked right past it! Next week. Although, I did make a bit of progress on the tough part, the slip ring. After realizing that I forgot the sucker pump, and after psyching myself up to get on top of the pig in the cold and...

    diesel in crankcase

It's been a hot minute, but as far as I remember, there is no drain, plug, device, what so ever on the air compressor of any compressor, on a Cummins anywho. Yes, you will disturb the injector adjustment when you remove the screw. IMHO, I would leave that to someone experienced. From my end...

    diesel in crankcase

No actuators, purely mechanical. No purging of the fuel system, it is a positive displacement system and will fire after a bit of cranking. No compressor case to drain, it is all gravity feed back to the front cover and down into the sump. No need to remove the rockers, simply remove the...

    diesel in crankcase

You won't be able to see anything. The hold downs cover them up pretty good, Only way to check them is to pull them, then you are just gonna replace them anyway and look for cracks between the injector bore and the hold down bolts. Just do the pump first, give it an oil change and see what...

    diesel in crankcase

No, nothing to hold, time, etc. The F/P is direct driven from the cam gear through the compressor. No sealant on the gasket when assembling. The oil there is direct return to the sump. Silicone can make it's way back into the pan and get sucked up onto the pick up. Just use a dab of grease to...

    diesel in crankcase

No hammers or vice grips. 3/8 wrench, 1/2 inch line wrench, 1/2 inch open end, 1 inch wrench, maybe a 7/8 for back up on the inlet fitting, 5/8 wrench, 5/8 half moon wrench, pliers for the tach drive....might be a 1 inch depending on the cable....7/16 open/box, 9/16 wrench and MAYBE a 7/16 half...

    Gasser help

I didn't think of fuel pressure, only because when I first lit the 6602, the F/p was leaking and I rebuilt it with a kit from Then And Now. The pump, IIRC is a six piston unit, so it flows a boatload, but I am unsure of the pressure since it ran OK, with no leaks , after the pump rebuild, with...

Adding in-tank fuel pump to M818

Absolutely no reason for it. The pump has a 1-3/4 inch positive displacement pump on board. It is capable of sucking a column of fuel ten feet vertically before it needs help from a transfer tank. It makes no more power and is a potential failure point. EDIT, 1 and 3/4 inch gear pump, sorry...

    Gasser help

@DAM7106 , The holleys are troublesome, that being said, the one on the M62 is, so far, working OK however, the truck has not been put in service yet, but I did pop for a Zenith to swap it over when and if the holley starts acting up. Get with DrEvilPorkchop, he might still have some left over...
