I would not say all the gassers were first reset with 427's (or manual starters) My last deuce was a 1955 and was not converted to Multi fuel untill 1971 (ish) that was a push button. But in the first few years I would say you are correct until the 465 came out :)

How are you powering your pump? If you just hooked it up to the first battery it's going to overcharge the second and fry them both. But the mounts look great!

Clinto had a plug leak on the back of the first cylinder head on his deuce and I remember that was a trick to figure out what was going on at first. Then he installed the plug with re part number crooked and had to remove it but that is another story

When it's sticking. It will loosen all the gunk up. And just as you said wash away. I would rather do that then spray stuff in there. I have done it to my deuce a few times. It's just eZ to slap it in and let it sit and do the work. Just a hint or trick.

It will wash the tank and everything out. Add a gallon and have a few filters ready. Run that tank and then after that I would keep it mixed 50%. It will for sure keep things clean.
