What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

What do you RE-torque the pinion nut to? I need to do this on my 813.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

More pictures (from the car show that I took the "Beastie Wagon" to) Okay. I quit with the picture thing. 2200 hrs now, and NOW, the site won't even bother to try and upload the pictures. :soapbox:

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Pictures, maybe? These were supposed to be with my last post. Somehow, I ended up having to re-size them...?

I'll give it a go. Can I send a USPS M.O. to you for the pair, as we had discussed already?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I took mine to a local car show, changed out the sun destroyed reflectors with some from for driveway marker sticks (got that idea in a thread somewhere around here...) and mounted and used my side storage box for car show duty. Hmm. Looks like something has changed. I can't add pictures...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

It looks like someone got "talked into" working with the local EMA rep..... Ours is starting to get on my nerves by calling my trucks "assets".

What did you do to your deuce this week?

A good showing for the support of family and service members is always a good duty to have.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I took mine out for a drive to a semi-local place and then over for lunch. The BBQ place is called Dickeys, from Texas. They asked me to please bring my Beastie Wagon back next Friday evening to be in the car show. Cool. :naner:

Actually, zebedee, I understand the reason for the support brace going down to the weight tray. It was the large brace that I wasn't sure about. I just got my 5 ton last weekend and I will be awhile learning about it. Sorry for the distractions.

    First Deuce owner

Welcome to a fellow Kentuckian! Good to hear that you have a truck that you and your dad can enjoy, even if it <is> the compact model of what your dad drove. I have BOTH a Deuce AND a 5 ton (yeah, yeah. Glutton for punishment and all that. ) and they are both 1970 models. Kind of weird, I think.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I took mine to a Labor Day cookout and give people rides in the back, plus home brewed an "easier to find" wiper blade solution, and I use it for a daily driver (round trip is 96 miles, so, I sleep at the shop several times a week) Oh! And added a 59 cent cupholder from Goodwill. Holds the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yeah, I *know*. I've dealt with steel cable of and on over the years, and, I have come to really appreciate a good set of heavy leather gloves when working with that stuff!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Thanks, Ahab. The winch is functional, but, a little bit cranky to use as the PTO shaft has a slight curve in it, due to a mishap somewhere back in the past. I really need to pull the cable and oil it, as it looks pretty dry.

Interesting. Why only one the drivers' side, instead of both? That would make more sense, from a balance point of view. Yes, I spotted the vice...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Thanks for the compliments! It was a long drive back home, but, 600 miles at 70mph goes by at a decent pace, at least until you hit hills. Looks like it is turbo time! Oh, the looks it got while shuffling down the road... mostly "wait, what just happened?" when I would ease past other vehicles...

Interesting that the brushguard is tubular, versus the flat and welded plate style that I have on mine. Also, the tubular piece on the drivers side, between the fender and bumper- what is it's reason?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Actually *got* one this past weekend, and drove it from Springfield MO, to the Eastern part of KY. All on Sunday, about 12 hrs. (Yeah, it fits in the yard..... *barely*) Thanks, Matt!
