Proper way to set steering box preload

If you have in and out as well as fore and aft movement, the box needs rebuilding. The adjustment screw changes the depth of engagement between the worm and follower. To adjust the depth, jack up the front end to get the wheels off the ground and tighten the screw down until you have no lost...

    Time for the cab

De nada amigo. I helped him get a NOS distributor for his truck, they seem to be scarce in the Canary Islands. The postage to Spain was more than I paid for a brand new dist. assy. though!

    MI to GA

Matt Don't worry, I'll make a trip up to Bjorns later on this Summer. If you were bobtailing it would be one thing, but pulling a wiggle waggle would be no fun at all.

    Gas Deuce engine flooding

Some of the old carburated engines would leak gas into the manifold after the engine was shut down. Rhis could be caused by several things, carb float too high, leaking needle and seat, bad carb gaskets, etc.

    Engine Prelube Info....

Look for the pump on either an electric forklift or pallet jack. They are usually 4 -5 gpm or so, already have a check valve installed, and tend to be durable as all get out. You will need to run as heavy a wire and solenoid as the truck charger uses, or you will quickly fry wires.

    Fonts and art work

Gerber machines had a "Stencil" font that was almost identical to the old military stencil cutter stuff. It would even space them like a stencil cutter did. Most any sign software has that font built in.

    Painting a cab cover?

Krylon is a spray paint that sticks to just about anything. You find it at most hardware stores. It will work on tee-shirts, tire covers, and quite a few different plastics. Pretty cheap, comes in many colors, including flat brown, black, and green. It has an agressive solvent package that...

    Engine Prelube Info....

Hit the scrap yards and find an old 24 volt electric pallet jack. Nice little pump, already has the lines, and a check valve. I found one for $25 the other day. It would also make a nice hydraulic pump for a dump conversion.

    Painting a cab cover?

RE: paint I have seen yinyl painted with Krylon, mainly tire covers. It seems to work really well. Alkyd enamels will normally turn loose. I would try Krylon on a section on the very top and see how it does.

    Painting a cab cover?

RE: Re: RE: Painting a cab cover? Vinyl can be painted with the proper paints. The main problem is "plasticizer migration". The chemicals that keep the vinyl flexible tend to come to the top slowly and make the paint turn loose.
