Just got my M1009 back from paint shop

I've been tossing between green and tan on my M1028. I'm leaning towards tan after seeing yours

    Injection pump replacement

I too wrestled with where to buy one for my M1009. I did alot of research before buying. The pumps are made by Standyne so I looked for a Standyne authorized dealer. The ones on ebay are tempting because of the price, but the reviews on those guys are not so good. Look up the company name on the...

    Do I really want a M1009? (MPG)

The M1009 has 3.08 gears in the axles which is very helpful at obtaining 20 mpg consistently, but not so helpful climbing the mountains. The Civi versions might have 3.42 or 3.73 which will lesson fuel economy, but help climbing the hills.

Steel Soldiers emails and site issues

I only got the coward email. I feel left out. Seemed pretty obvious to me the site had been hacked, so I'm surprised you received so many angry emails. Don't sweat it.

    6.2 fuel pump...?

Good idea unless you forget to turn it off. I have been using the 12D Mr Gasket pump as well for 2-years now with no issues.

    New CUCV Owner

Welcome and congrats. A lot of the expensive mods have already been done for you. I have my glow plugs on a momentary swith on my M1009 and prefer it that way. I may switch my new M1028 to the same set up. It makes the truck harder to steal as well.

    Finally Getting My First M1009.

Nice find. I would keep it 24V unless you need a starter. Then it is something to consider.

My first CUCV M1031, My first SS post

Note to self; Do not spill boiling water on my foot. That looks painful man. I hope you heal up quick. I don't think the M1031 came with the Miller Ramrod from the military, but I could be wrong. That does look new and based on how clean that truck is I would agree that is original mileage...

    The Move

I think that tow dolly weighs more than the mini. Mt. Rushmore is a cool place to see. I saw the Badlands from interstate 90, but didn't go thru it. I will be in August this year on the bike though. Have a safe trip and enjoy the journey.

    $3500 M1008s??

I think in the long run "Patience" and a little "Luck" is key. I picked up my M1009 at Ft Meade for $1,240 3-years ago when I saw others going for $1,800 and up. That was luck. I was on the lookout since then for a M1008 or variant, but the numbers were going up near or over $4K all the time and...

You may not be able to own that particular one, but if you have deep pockets you can get one.[thumbzup]. Not with the armor though. Thanks for serving.

    Looking for a photo

From what I have been able to gather the CUCV's that have the NP205 transfer case have the selector in the picture I posted whereas the ones with the NP208 transfer case have the selector you posted a pic of. M1008, M1028, and M1009 have a NP208 M1031, M1028A1, M1028A2, and M1010 have the...

    Redneck Mechanic examples?

I can appreciate that method. No tool box should be without a scissor jack.

    My New M1028

Yes it does. There are several different ones that say "explosives" one that says "danger" and one that says "blasting agents". One of the ID plates on the tailgate says "ammo" so I guess it carried the fun stuff too and from the range. The beacon is not currently hooked up but it will be.
