Anyone know a towing company capable of handling the paperwork?
Were these private vehicles, or loaned to the city through some program? If on loan, would a run of these numbers show they are owed back to Uncle Sugar and some city worker is unaware of how to handle the return, or unwilling to...
The short version, you can take 2 12 volt lights... say some KC Daylighters... and connect them in series. Battery/switch to Positive light#1, negative light #1 to positive light #2, and negative light #2 to ground.
It's easier to just get the right 24V bulbs.
I think some of you are missing the point here...
I'm not asking which is better, lockers or a completely untried system. (That is obvious) This is a thought experiment about what could be done to build an ABS/TC with mostly off the shelf parts.
Yes, lockers are awesome. I will name a child...
That's about what I'm thinking. Most of the SUVs built in the last few years have pressure generating ABS/Traction control systems because it's linked with the mandated stability systems.
Obviously a plain ABS module wouldn't do it.
But thinking about pressure and fluid capacity, our wheel...
Oh this is a thought experiment at this point.
I'm just trying to probe the hive mind here to see what others might think. I know it's possible, but wonder if it can be made practical with some creative parts swapping.
Cutting corners by say... grabbing a 4 wheel ABS/traction control module...
Patracy is correct... a better reluctor ring would be needed. It would have to be on the hub, which would be interesting given the hub flipping, but not insurmountable.
Mud and water doesn't bother standard ABS rings/sensor pairs, so this one wouldn't be any more vulnerable.
My programming...
So we all hate getting stuck, and lockers are wonderful, but 3 would add up to $1500 plus installation which in most cases would require pulling the axle.
But we do know that an open differential can deliver even torque if the side that spins has the brakes applied.
So we would need a speed...
That plate is designed to attach to a skidsteer and it's onboard hydraulics and simulate a 3-point tractor attachment like a Ford 9N or many others from the last 50 years. That means the 2 lifting arms and the PTO drive. We would need to run all three and have some capacity to spare. (Not very...
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not about the PTO simulator, but just in case you're serious and haven't seen one...

I figure you would need to build one plate mount for the front and one for the back. Make them detachable with...
I had to bump this for some of the new guys.
The thought of doing a Unimog front or Ford 3 point rear tractor attachment plate sounds so darn interesting. One good sized pump and a PTO/Hydraulic PTO simulator, out each end seems like something one of you guys would have done by now.
If the valve was locked you probably didn't have enough flow to fully purge the rear lines.
Another trick to recenter the valve used to be blowing high pressure air back into the bleeder/line on the cut-off circuit.
Basically, you need some more pressure in the rears to push the valve back...
This might sound strange, but kick the brake pedal. I'm going to guess the proportioning valve has shifted fully and cut off fluid flow to the rear. Sometimes a few good kicks can pop it back to the centered position.
The build was OK for the first episode... maybe the second... the end will make you say ?!?>!?
The low buck build that hits $20k?
Totally ruined the truck IMHO
I got mine from Dennis in Copemish. He has a number to pick from, and support parts.
Good guy to deal with. Tell me what you want, and what you expect to pay, and we can go from there.
Ugly (former fire truck instead of pretty green) $3500 wo/winch. Winch trucks start around $5000 and are...
Dude, between the weather and school and work I'm going through withdrawal not being able to work on her. I'm already planning on the parts purchases for spring, and I haven't had the time to install all of the stuff I already have.
I have to get out there this week.
