    Scout camp with MKT

Just got back from 7 days of camping with 95 scouts. We used the MKT to feed 3 meals a day. Everything worked pretty good. Our only problem was storing dry goods. We ended up using our DRASH tent to store most of the dry food. The MKT ice chest worked really well keeping stuff cool and dry. We...

    Working on the MKT

Actually the grommets were cut before I took them out. That's the way they were in the trailer. I was surprised that they were cut.

    cranks but won't start

Warthog, are you talking about checking the GP module and the resistor? If so, I will get that done this weekend before I order the new GP's. I'm not that familiar with vehicle electrical systems, so if anyone has any tips, please let me know. I was actually quite proud that I was able to check...

    cranks but won't start

another question, so is it possible to start and run the truck with only a few working glow plugs? Is it possible that only a few were working and then the last 2 or so went bad, so now it won't start. BTW I did open the valve on the fuel filter and its getting plenty of fuel.

    cranks but won't start

My 85 M1009 has run great for the last few months. It sat for two days and now won't start, it cranks but won't fire off. I checked the TM's and followed the steps. I have 0 volts on the bottom of the relay, with the key off, 25 with the key on. I checked all of the glow plugs and have 0 ohms on...

    Generators for Dummies

I'm thinking the run should be 50 ft, So if the inside knob is set correctly, the outside knobs really don't affect the output, its just for the meters. I've looked for the TMs for this genset and can't find anything. Any suggestions on how to wire the posts. I've did a search and found several...

    Generators for Dummies

Thats great news, here are a few pics I just took. I understand the Volt selector knob should be on V1-2, and the current selector to 1-1, is that correct then I can hard wire into the post a 10ga cord and run that to a junction box with breakers and a couple of outlets, then I just have to...

    Generators for Dummies

How do I respond to that with out being "snarky", as my Grandmother used to call it. As a Scoutmaster for 21 years, 22 in January, I too, do not allow my scouts the use of electronic devices. I know how much of a distraction they can be. We typically don't bring a generator along with us...

    Generators for Dummies

Isaac-1,I haven't been able to find a TM for the "D" model, but what your saying Issac is that other than the engine, It's a "A" or "C" model? Thanks for the info Storeman, I appreciate the help, but thats what I'm talking about, I have no idea what "flash the field" means. SCSG-G4, I have...

    Generators for Dummies

Ok, so I am prepared for the flood of replies like "use the Search button", "Download the TM's" , "If you own it you should know how to work on it", etc, I have done all of the above ,but I still have some stupid questions. My Troop has just bought an MEP-016D. It starts and runs fine (the...

    MKT as a Sanitation Trailer

Ok Mike, I've been waiting for a while for you to make this setup (so I can copy all your work, lol) What kind of sinks are those, where did you get them? I have a summer camp in June of next year, feeding about 100 Scouts,I really need to get the clean up MKT up and running. Heating the water...

    Vehicle Banners for Veteran's Day

I just recently started a graphics design and printing company, I would be more than happy to make banners at cost for veterans day, you pay the shipping. Depending on the artwork and color, most 3' X 8" banners would be around $50 or less. PM me with details and I can quote you a price. My way...

    Advice needed on GP medium

Our troop has a GP small, PITA is right, its heavy, it stinks and hard to set up. We just picked up a "drash" tent. Google it. Its light, and sets up in about a minute with 4 people, our scouts love it.

    m101a2 recovery

We just picked one up for our Scout Troop about 3 months ago. It was in similar shape, no rust, new tires, bows and tarp in great shape. I pulled it 2 weeks ago for a scout camp, about 1000 miles behind a Titan pickup, both the trailer and truck were loaded. It pulled great the whole way, no...
