So after 6 years of saving up I bought a BRDM2...

Depending on what all radios and such you had planned to take out - I might be interested in buying them - could help fund more work on your toy :-)

Advice on getting a wheeled armored vehicle

As for dealing with T-K - I traded a vehicle plus $ for the BTR-40. Then this spring I bought that vehicle back from Larry. Both times it was an easy transaction. Now in my case both vehicles were already stateside so I cannot say exactly how using them for importing would be - but dealing...

Advice on getting a wheeled armored vehicle

I can tell you that a BTR-40 would not be fun for you to drive at 6'2". Even the Israeli mods do not make it much better. I am 5'9" and my legs get a bit cramped in there. Rest of the vehicle is nice a roomy though - of course no top cover or turret helps with that...

So after 6 years of saving up I bought a BRDM2...

Taking out the belly wheels is a pretty drastic change from original - but it is your toy and I hear that mod is a common one to give more room inside :-) The wheels may be able to make it move in the water but you will have no navigational control of it. All that said - I may be interested...

So after 6 years of saving up I bought a BRDM2...

First - Congrats on getting it home and it driving - even if it needs more work that is a great feeling to drive your new toy around. I cannot wait until i can drive my BTR-152 under its own power. Second - do you plan on putting all the radio gear back in when you are done repainting it? If...
