As mentioned above - we had a long and rewarding day - with most of it spent at BFR.
Glen was as great a guy as everybody has been saying!
He took some time to come over and talk with us and help out before he had to go back to his real work :)
That lot is both wonderful and sad at the same...
Picked up both my M35A2s there - MIke was there and worked with us as we played musical vehicles to get eveything in order.
Drove both home to St Louis with no issues.
Could actually use one of those empty reels :)
Have to get all the Russian field wire off the Russian reels I have so I can refill them with US wire :)
There is a UAZ 469 that was for sale in MN recently as well - if you did not want to bother with importing just yet.
I love driving mine - but I would not plan on too much street driving - except putting around town.
They are not speed demons and get downright scary at the higher speeds.
I love my Russian trucks (most of the time) Simple is probably an understatement.
Some of the older members would recognize the technology in use - but us younger guys are used to more electronics and computers involved (which always cause problems)

Sorry for the late response - been absent form this forum for a while.
Anyway - there is a large group from Germany that only make it every other year with all their East Bloc goodies - GAZ-66s, Roburs, IFAs, UAZ etc.
So next year is an "on year" for them I guess.
Plus being the 30 year...

Was there 9 days and still did not get to see everything in the detail I wanted.
Next year should be even better - 30 year anniversary and all the Germans with their Russian and EG trucks should be there.
Glen,
Thanks again for the help on this! And a great trip report on top of it!!
I will coordinate with you on getting it picked up from your place soon.
Brett
Recently won an auction for an M116 with genny from Ft. Riley.
EUC just came through and the person that was going to get it for me cannot get there during the week due to stuff at work now.
Can anybody help out by picking it up and getting it off post?
Can get out there on the weekend but...
Sorry - I sometimes forget that not everybody knows what a BTR is :)
Yes the BTR-152 is the armored 6x6.
BTR -= Bronetransporter = which means 'armored transporter'
This model is close kin to my BTR-40 as they were produced in the same basic era. The BTR-40 being replaced in front line...
GAZ-69M and BTR-152
It has been an interesting several weeks around here!
GAZ-69M I picked up from the buddy in Kansas. He had it a couple years and had not driven it much so thought it was time for it to go where it would get used - and boy will it get used by me:)
BTR-152 I got from a...
Yep - I actually run the Warsaw Pact side of EastWind :)
Have had my eye on getting a pk for a while.
One sold in Chicago area on e-bay not all that long ago. They are around in the states but not many.
If I get to importing some more UAZs I may add a pk into the container as well.
