    CUCV 2nd tank

No they don't. That is the problem. I want to put a tank inside the truck for SVO or diesel oil mix. But don't want it returned to the tank. I want the original tank to only have normal pump diesel in it. I may have to put a separate switch for each line and when switching back to the main tank...

    CUCV 2nd tank

I want a second seperate fuel tank in my M1009. It looks like three fuel lines. I guess one is a vent. But I want the fuel return to return to the correct tank. What is the best way to make a dual tank setup preventing the fuel from the second tank from getting in the first tank.

    Fuel filter lines

I ordered a new fuel filter base but it won't be here until next week. I want to get a cheap inline filter so I can go to the store. I don't have a micrometer. What are the inlet and outlet sizes? Just looking with a ruler I have 7/16 and 1/4. I thought I saw it somewhere on here but can't find...

    Green OR black rims?

As long as you do not use chrome! I hate chrome. They came flat black. But like anything military there is no real standard. The wheels look bad get a Private to paint them. So now you know who really makes the decisions and they use whatever they have handy.

    anyone know the injector number?

Injector number? Do you mean the Injector Pump? There is only one mechanical Injector Pump for the 6.2. There are two settings they should be set at when they are rebuilt one is for the "C" code and one for the "J" code. You need the one for the "J" code also referred to as "heavy duty."

turbo install, but no pyro port?!

Get the exhaust and intake manifolds from the junk yard. They are cheap.

Part # for proper 24v starter?

$250 sounds a bit high. If you find a starter and alternator repair shop that does the work it should be less. I never had the 24V rebuilt though. But most shops send them to small places that are dirty and hard to find. If you do not know where one is ask a mechanic. Find out where they drink...

So who outbid me? (eBay, 11/9/2010)

If someone wanted my M1009 there is no way I would sell it for less than $10k. First you get it now, you get a title now, you can look at it now, plus unlike GL if I rip you off you can take me to court. If you go to GL you have to first get the bid, then wait, fill out paper work and wait about...

How noisy is your 6.2 lit. M1009

When you are driving 75-80 MPH it gets much quieter! On my last road trip I found that out and I did it for seven hours straight each way stopping only for fuel once each way. My step-mom that has a newer diesel truck says it is quiet and my wife says my step-mom is deaf. So it is all a matter...

    body armor/run-flat tires?

If you want to know why you do not live near Mexico. The best vehicles to armor are ones that do not look armored. The weak point in the M1009 is all the glass. You can replace it but it cost more to armor glass than non glass because of the lack of choices. Personally I say the best defense is...

    Fuel line to IP?

I have been looking in the TM's and searching but can't find the the fuel line for sure. I am looking for the Hard line that bring the fuel to the IP. Do they make one that is hard all the way out of the manifold like what was on my truck? It looks like only a short piece is available that a...

    Bleeding injector lines

I know this will open a can worms. But I rebuilt my IP and put it back on by myself. Last time I pulled the glow plugs to relieve the pressure and prevent starting. Then I cranked the engine while someone else tighten the lines down as the engine turn to make sure there was no air. But this time...

    injector lines

Dumb question. I got two new injector lines for 6 and 8. I have them on the IP but can't get them on the injectors. The different thread sizes are only on the injectors on the head side right? The injector lines only come with one thread size right? I was about to start throwing things so I...

    body armor/run-flat tires?

I am not sure many people have seen non-military armored vehicles. But just about anything can be armored. If they can do a car they can do the M1009 easy. The problem is that the windows either don't roll down at all or only a little bit. You will have to add air conditioning before the armor...

Starter 24V Glow Plugs 12V The glow plugs had a resistor to bring the 24V down to 12V. Mine and many others had the glow plug relay wired to the front battery. Good luck!

    Oil additves

I add Lucas with every oil change. Only 69K miles? You know it roll over at 100K. How many times did it roll over before you got it? Has the engine been changed out? Mine only had about 15K miles on it and I had to rebuild the engine. You can't go by the odometer. Act like you have over 500k...

    Problem this morning, need help.

First grab some trash and throw it as hard as you can in a safe direction. Then knock the trash can over and yell at the kids to pick up all the trash. When you put the cables on the batteries if you see a spark stop and disconnect everything. If not the smoke makes it hard to see and breath...

Do something with that cig lighter fast. The M1009 is a 12V in the truck. The Starter and the strips passenger side rear are 24V. I would use a multimeter just to be careful.

    Replacing block heater on M1009

My truck came from MO but did not have one. I looked in the TM but did not see it. Down here we do not need them. But don't they just go in a freeze plug hole?
